rahul
hey guys on an average how much data transfer(upload and download) happens in an hours worth of multiplayer gaming session?
vinitwins
^ i'd estimate between 70-80MBph (x2) V
rahul
V dont confuse me man.. am askin for both upload and download in an hour and u've written something lik "x2". :ko2: wht's tht supposed to mean?
vinitwins
if your upload and download streams dont share your overall bandwidth cap then the total data transfer might be ~150-200MBph. V ps: i had run some initial tests on a 256kbps line using COD2 (and a bandwidth logging utility) - even though the theoretical download speeds on a 256kbps line is 105MBph, while playing MP games the upload stream is working equally hard (hence the x2 multiplier)

vinitwins
http://www.gamesradar.com/us/xbox360/game/...928141947704049 Halo brings down XBL! Microsoft has told Next Generation that the sheer amount of gamers attempting to play Halo 3 via Xbox Live resulted in some "minor issues" with the online service. The launch of the title, combined with problems playing it online, also led to vastly increased traffic on Xbox.com which suffered operational hitches too. Microsoft labeled Halo 3's launch day as the "most active Xbox Live gaming day in history" after more than a million people had been logged playing Halo 3 online. That may be the case, but there were many others who weren't able to get in on the action. Gamers began voicing their dissatisfaction shortly after the game had been released. A multitude of problems were reported, not least on the official Xbox forums, including screens freezing, the inability to access Xbox Live and a mysterious game update that led to an error message. the bungie servers have been down since the last hour - no social/ranked matchmaking is possible, but you can still play coop or custom MP matches.
