random garbage trivia: this was actually known as Astonishia Story 2 in Korea.

 

While the first, developed by South Korean company Sonnori, was nothing extraordinary (which was basically Astonishia Story R ported to the PSP), this entry is completely new to the series but only by its naming convention. It is actually called Garnet Chronicle in Japan and was developed by Matrix (they did the 3D Final Fantasy remakes for the DS, as well as PSX cult-classic Alundra), who had nothing to do with the first Astonishia.
