  1. Oh Man! FNR3 was epic that evening.

No plans for Bangalore dude. Sad times. :(

    :(

    sh*t.

This is the marriage thread. Why am I expressing emotions for you?

Meeting MT in person does that to you. All you single girls, take notice. Nicest guy, completely detached from his forum persona. I say this with an unblemished record of staunch heterosexuality.

  2. Yup, first game she liked and sat beside me. Other games she just shrugged and was like whatever, enjoy. But this game, she was genuinely interested.

I'd recommend Heavy Rain too. Try it if you haven't already. The whole emo start, rain and music is really something. You'll be discussing it at dinner.

  3. Anybody else play UC3 with your SO?

My wife loves the game. Definitely one of those games that are playable/watchable by serious gamers and non-gamers alike. Kinda like Pixar movies, perhaps? Loved by kids and adults alike?

Anyways, best current gen couple friendly game since Heavy Rain. (read: more emphasis on story than gameplay elements)

Highly recommended. Cheaper/Better/Lasts longer than an evening of fine dining.

  4. @shekdown, is it true that south indians are depicted very badly or rather crassly in the movie ? Saw a comment on fb like that.

Nah. It's good front bencher perspective of a 'madrasi', hackneyed stereotypes, nothing you haven't seen before. This is not the major problem with the movie. There are other serious ones which you don't seem to care about, so don't let this stop you.

  5. +1 It's imminently watchable if you don't go the theatre with the preconceived notion of disliking it.

eminently even? No it's not, sorry.

It's a pile of CGI goat droppings.

Robot gets a free pass because its blasphemous to criticize Rajnikanth, when in fact the movie is as equally bad as Ra.One

Criticizing Rajini is free-for-all. Despite that, Robot rises above Rajini. It just needed a superstar. Replace Rajini with Amitabh or Pacino and you have the same, if not, better movie.

Oh, and if you think that Robot ≈ RaOne in terms of filmmaking, there's no need for any further discusssion. You win. I rest my case. But pls change your avatar. Thanks.

  6. ya....I've a stockpile of games lying around collecting dust I never bothered to play beyond the first hour. To think I paid like 2.5k for each of them :|

I paid good money and enjoyed Fracture(PS3) more than RaOne.

You're watching it anyway, I can tell.

Fine, suit yourselves, I'm outta here.

  7. I didn't find ra.one as bad as people here are making it out to be. Don't get me wrong though, it is a bad movie. But it is watchable.

LOL at the people saying movies like robot, raavan etc. are better than this. Exaggerate much?

Sorry, but Robot is infinitely better than RaOne. Ravaan is marginally kinda better. Hostel is vanilla better than RaOne.

  8. dude at least the effort gets a 1 time watch.

Nope. This is a complete failure in all departments. Since you've already paid for it, go.

Anyone else planning to swipe their cards or pay hard earned money, I'll offer you an alternative,

    under 200 bucks.

    180ml Old Monk/Hercules

    +

    Coke/Thumsup

    +

    bOOTLEG Drive/Good Neighbours/Horrible Bosses

    =

    Evening better spent, than RaOne.

  9. Watching the POS film tomorrow. Agreed with my friend that if the film is not good we're going to start cheering like mental in the cinema hall.

Machan, don't. You're just giving in to the publicity.

Same situation with 7am arivu or Velayutham.

We're telling the filmmakers that they can go ahead and make an extremely crappy movie, but as long as they publicize it to the hilt, they're assured of opening week collections. They'll easily recover the cost with opening week collections across the world, but we're left with a turd in our heads.

  10.

wow!!! seeing you after a long long long time man...how's everything? you just disappeared :P

    Hey KZ :)

I'm good, just tied down with too much work bro.

    @Everyone,

I can't fire up Arkham City without dirty looks from the family. RaOne ruined superheroes and videogames for me. Shahrukh must die. He took the final call on every scene. He had the power to alter anything from the directional velocity of the glass shards to the climax and he f**ked up. Shahrukh must die.

  11. I am taking this RaOne debacle way too personally because this was Shahrukh telling India that software developers/game developers (and smart south indians :) ) are cool and he screwed it up. My wife hated the movie. She probably hates videogames more. I am not forgiving SRK for this.

  12. the sequence when they blow off a certain mumbai landmark was very neat. not hollywood quality neat, but very very cool.

Again, the idea was fine(inspired from Speed) but the execution was downright dumb.

It's the 'let's take the best of the Hollywood box-office blockbusters and remake them for the lowest common Indian denominator' stance that I hated.

  13.

I still wonder why this Hollywood specialists when they come to India, just shut off their creativity and do these stupid stunts. Even if our directors explain the scenes, cant they just say: hey dude, sorry but thats just retarded, lets do it this way.

Because it's easier. I've okayed a stupid feature from a client cos it's less work for my team. We're not paid enough to be your product consultant.

  14. raavan >>>> ra.one

    Exactly.

    @TyrantSunny, hope

If the negative reviews from paid reviewers and honest upright good samaritan members of a gaming forum can't convince you about how bad it is, I don't know what will.

I mean, we can take the film apart scene by scene, but RaOne doesn't require that kind of analysis. I wouldn't wish this on Uwe Boll, but go watch it for yourself.
