  1. what A/V exhibition? where?

It is called the A/V Expo, its been on for a long time in Mumbai & Delhi, I haven't missed a single one

They are usually held on for a week between Jan - March. But its worth the wait as each company there has all their models hooked up and ready to blow you away

  2. So I checked out a few HT systems - first things first - I saw a Denon setup for 32k

Second - checked out ezone and am never going in there - ever - again. they don't know what to display and how to setup. so unless you've tested out a system somewhere never go there. and they have limited choice.

and finally - Sony sound is not good. Both Philips and Onkyo had cheaper systems and better sound. So I've decided to build my HT system using components - and wait till I can afford some good speakers.

    :D

Ezone is quite useless for testin HT's etc :P...

mate if you liked onkyo/philips then you will definitely like Yamaha. Specially yamaha's amps are one of the best for mid range systems.

If you are planning to wait for a lil bit, i suggest you wait for the A/V Exhibition. The offers that are there are amazing. Also you will see new models being introduced :)..

  3. Barista is a notch below Gloria Jeans. CCD is still win in my book for the Choco Frappe and Kappi Nirvana. Though yet to find something as awesome as Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's Ice Blended Cinnamon Cold Coffee which is, imho, pure win in a glass.

naa.. over here barista is better than ccd according to me.. ccd here use to be good ..

    Pics at 9pm

    :bash::dance::unsure:

  4. They opened a new one in Bangalore a short while back (their third or fourth in the city now), right on CMH road. I think the elevated metro rail will pass right in front of it, so they picked a good spot :D

How are the prices/quality? I've never been there myself :P

 Prices are decent, quality is very good :fear: i prefer it to CCD. Barista is at Par i guess :)

    @TS:kidhar hai yeh??

:fear: sunday ko agar food/drink from gloria jeans ki piks post kii toh :chair::bash:

:fear: its at Turner Road, Next to pot pourri :fear:

  5. well...ssds are new and costly ....there are premium laptops coming up with 64gb ssds ...so its a basic start of transition from hdd to ssd.

when they will be cheaper comparable to hdd prices, hdd will be gone forever

it basically comes down to storage vs faster comparison...if u really want that 2X speed , then ask urself if u can live with 32/48gb ....its basically u to decide ...48gb is a lot of space but u just need to fill it carefully not putting any junk :P ...if u just wanna use it 4 music+videos then more or less 48gb will suffice ..

i need a lot of space but if i go for the 160gb but i also cannot bear laggyiness and all :ko:

if it was 1160gb i could just dump whatever i had on my comp :P

look as of now i have 7.25GB worth Music and 7.5GB worth Music Videos So thats 15GB say..

Now i will have 33GB left to fill it with Movies :P that shall suffice i guess :P

Anyways guess will go for the 32GB + buy a 16GB MicroSD Card...

    Thx khurana sahib :hi2:

  6. definitely SSDs are much better than HDD in performance ...but i dont think 48gb will be enough and it will be messy trying to delete something to empty some space .....music is fine but videos and still its android so u might wanna have a lot of other data in there ...

thou 32gb microsd were also announced recently but they will be >100$

currently 16gb are 50$-60$ in india

yea i knwo it wont be enough but

ssd's seem to be 2X or more faster than HDD's which is summin tht freaks me out :P

    i am still confused :ko:

  7. what's the size of songs you have....even if in the next 365.25 days if you wouldnt use the fully capacity of SSD get it....

i would prefer the HDD as how much advantage will SSD have over an HDD here :)

i have enough stuff to fill up 160gb or evenn more but the reason i am asking is after i saw this:

  8. ok Guyz i have decided to buy the Archos 5 Android..

now shall i buy the ssd 32gb version or the 160gb hdd version ?

the Archos 32GB SSd Version is for 370$ and the 160GB HDD Version is for 390$.

Now the ssd version also has a microsd [sdhc compatible] slot so i can add a further 16gb into it, thts the max rite ?

so what version shall i buy SSD or HDD ?

  9. that definitive system looks good - but 2 big problems - (1) getting it from US of A, (2) out of my budget

any good Yamaha showroom in Delhi / Gurgaon where I can go check out the YHT-365?

i am not sure where in delhi can you try em.. but if you have croma there or a/v shop you will be able to give it a go there..

and yamaha/onkyo wont let you down they both are sweet systems

  10.

    :fear:

    :P

    Congo and enjoy :chair:

  11. Looking to get a decent HT system from Singapore - friend's coming over. Something which will connect to the PS3 and LCD.

I don't know sh*t about HT systems - so what should I look for? I don't need a BD system because the PS3 has that. And nothing too large - my living room is small - so I prefer clarity over ooomph.

    I saw this one - how's it?

    http://www.sony.com.sg/product/ht-sf2300

this one seems to be very good.. but why not go inn for Yamaha or Onkyo.

Like the Yamaha YHT-365 is basically a 5.1 Sustem with amp and will set you back 28k... and these are pretty darn good for that price, and it sounds amazing..

Go to a local audio shop and check the yamaha and onkyo range..

or if you are looking for something more high-end then have a look at this one: http://www.definitivetech.com/Products/pro...%20600%20System

Definitive directly competes with bose, so you know what to expect ... top notch quality and sound

i have personally heard these and they are staggering :chair:

  12. looking for a 2nd TV for home

Acceptable Budget - 15-18K(20K at max)

Already have a 37" (HD Ready only) Samsung LCD at home...but with me playing ps2 on it most of the time,

we decided to get a cheap 29" CRT for my room for my ps2/tv and move the 37" out to the common room as primary TV.

but i have doubts over CRT ..i mean right nw its only ps2 but probably in a year(or sooner :wOOtjumpy: ) will get ps3 so i will need a HDTV....and dont want to use 29" as primary TV.

I know I can probably get LCD monitors cheaper but also wanted TV :( ..also hate plugging speakers and all ..it just makes too messy...

I want the max screen size in my budget so looking at 29" CRTs , but 26" LCD will be good too ...

so the best option is probably 26" LCD but i couldn't find any within my budget ....29" CRT are around 15K ..kinda confused :gunsmilie:

    :O

look if u want something well branded then your options are limited to 22".. Like SONY BRAVIA KLV-22T55A WHICH WOULD COST ABOUT 19.9K...

But if you don't mind something under branded but still decent televisions go for:

Videocon 26" Integra 26C and it'll cost you about 18k

Panasonic 26" TX-26LE8 which will cost about 19.5k [i'd recommend this over videocon]

Now if it's possible to strech that budget to 24k you can go for:

VU 32" 32P9 and it'll run you about 24k tops.

now i found these prices our from Vijay Sales/Croma.

    Hope i helped

  13. Hey guyz i need help :naughty:
