  1. After seeing all this conversation I'm inclined to buy a console. At least I can be sure that everything can be played until a new gen arrives.

On contrary having an high end pc I would be able to game and do some .NET programming. So first priority still PC.

Any suggestions for PC cabinet which is less prone to dust. As building a high end pc with lot of exhausts will be a dust magnet especially my home.

  2. :-) as I said I play 2 or 3 games max per year.i can live without graphics card for a while and also pc without graphics card will haunt me to buy one. 40k budget is equal to latest console. But I don't want to spend 4k per game so moving towards PC.

  3. Hmm. I want processor and motherboard to last longer.

Option 1: will buy low cost graphics card for now and will update in a year.

Option 2: will add the graphics card you suggested after 6 months but will assemble the pc without graphics card.

  4.

Good on Raina, run nahi toh kamse kam he is contributing by getting nohit out :D

    Haha. Good one.

Let's see how good they perform in next odi.

I seriously felt we have trained south African batsman very well in IPL against very limited skilled Indian bowling which now seems puny

  5. It is a good deal.

How many hard-drives do you plan to put into the system?

Do you plan to add a gaming grade GPU down the line?

Seeing that you are in Hyderabad, the best place to get deals for PC components is in CTC, Secunderabad.

Components I suggest that you go for --

Corsair CX v2430W ~2700/- or Seasonic S12II 520W ~4000/- (if you are going for more than three hard-drives later or a gaming grade GPU, the latter is advised)

    Corsair Vengeance 4GB x2 1600MHz ~3500/-

Corsair Carbide 400R ~5000/- or BitFenix Outlaw APAC edition ~3800/- (enquire at Bhumika Peripherals, CTC Basement)

    DELL S2240L ~8800/- or DELL Ultrasharp U2312M ~15500/-

    Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Thanks ALPHA17, will follow your suggestions.

Will go CTC tomorrow and will check the costs.

Any specific cabinet model, cooler and UPS suggestions

  6. Can I buy the below items which are 4 months old for 13500/-

    Intel 3.3 GHz FCLGA1155 Core i5 3550
    Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H

Please provide me cost and suggestions for below (harddisk already have 500GB)

    PSU

    RAM 8GB

    Cabinet

    Monitor

I just want the CPU up and running and also planning to add the graphic card at the end of this year.(currently will stay with my PS3)

Current requirement is for .NET development activities only.

  7. Trivia: Who is this batsman?

Making his Test debut in November 1990 just after his 20th birthday, his first six innings yielded five ducks and a 1, but supporters insist that his debut-innings duck puts him in good company with batsmen such as Mike Atherton, Graham Gooch, Len Hutton, Saeed Anwar and Wasim Akram, who all made debut-innings ducks and went on to score at least 2500 Test runs.[citation needed] After this difficult start in his first three matches, he didn't score above 29 in his next 11 innings, before hitting his first Test century in his 10th match, against India, seven years after his debut. He has 22 Test-match career ducks and 4 pairs (two ducks in a single match), both records for a top-order batsman

  8. If you can carry on using the old-graphics card and hard-drive for some more time you can get the RIG in staggered purchases and buy when you feel comfortable. But processor + motherboard + RAM and SMPS have to be changed in single fell stroke.

Next the cabinet and last add a graphics card.

    Hope this helps, Cheerio!

    Thanks bro.
