Honestly it depends on how often are you going to be using the controller and are you going to use it ONLY in steam?
For reference I have a PS5/Series X/Switch/Steam controller.Some points of note: PS5 will work natively when plugged in wired through steam. You'll have to use a third party program like DS4windows to get it to work wirelessly/for non steam stuff.
Steam controller is niche and discontinued anyway. Switch makes no sense for you since you don't need a dual system controller.
I'd suggest just grabbing a series X controller. The only "con" you might find is that you have to use AA batteries instead of a rechargeable cell which is better in terms of longevity if you ask me. If you don't want to spend on a brand new one, you can grab a used one from gameloot for a bit cheaper.

I've seen vids on youtube where people have the mega busted weapon traits unlocked which just makes the game a cakewalk. Don't really feel like grinding if the entire point is that once the guns become that imba you can just sort of casually destroy everything. I think hollowseeker is a good example. The weapon by itself was fine. But once it unlocks portal gun/portal turret traits it shreds. I've seen a fully automatic rocket launcher too [haven't seen the trait for it yet].
Some of the other weapons also seem busted. Can someone who's plat'd the game confirm that basically once you've unlocked the best weapon traits you can sort of just casually destroy everything with any gun?

Finally got time this weekend and just finished game. Agree with the general consensus that Act 2 is easier than Act 1. Weapons are more fun as well. Since I was so lucky in my initial runs, I basically had no weapon traits unlocked. I spent a bit of time unlocking the portal gun + portal turret + serrated edges for the hollowseeker. Once that was done, I finished the game off of an entire run where I found that in the start of biome 4
I've seen some gameplay and I know there are more insane weapons but it's kinda tedious to unlock them using their base version which is basically a*s [to compensate for how broken they become with all their weapon traits]
SpoilerFor the story: Mixed feelings. Wish it was not a hallucination, etc and a proper sci-fi game instead of this PTSD angle they took. But at the same time, it's kinda nice how they tied her car crash together. Driving through the woods -> the ruins.
The crash and the car going underwater -> the final level being underwater. The fact that hyperion is her kid and every start of a cycle it keeps repeating that "hyperion has been abandoned " takes on a different meaning.Controls, gameplay, sound design, even vfx were all tight. Truly phenomenal game. Wish this comes out on PC in a few years so that I can play it at 1440p 144Hz.
Now I know there's more to do in this game and there's a secret ending etc, but I've already seen it on youtube. I wish there was more of a NG+ where you can do Biome 1-3 with all the upgraded weapons. Because atmosphere wise, I love 1-3. Boss battles are better too. But I like the crazy guns and traits you get in 4-6.

Biome 3 end is like an end of Act 1, even story wise if you noticed so it’s basically a reset. Don’t worry about Act 2 if you finished Act 1 swiftly, you can finish in 2 sittings..

Yeah, I noticed biome 4 was definitely easier than biome 3. Even with just a base pistol.
I've visited the house 3 times so far. First time you get the astronaut figure. Second time, I saw an octopus plushie; but I didn't interact with the tiny cube thing in the house. When I got booted out of the house, the artifact was not there. After reaching biome 4, I got into the house again and this time I interacted with the cube and outside I got the spaceship artifact. Does that mean; I've lost the octopus plushie related artifact? Or I have to just unlock it with RNG now?

Man, I'm having a blast so far.
Reached the boss of biome 1 in the second run. Died in his last phase but then managed to kill him in my second run. Continued in the same run to the boss of biome 2 and died.
Played a couple of rounds and then I managed to get the perfect RNG in biome 1. Fully clear it and then just take the shortcut to the boss in biome 2. Kill him in the second attempt. Proceed on the same run to go into biome 3 and get the rocket launcher weapon. It absolutely shreds everything but jesus, the enemies in this round are annoying. Manage to reach the boss and this time instead of going in blind I decide to first google and see what the boss fight is going to look like. Made a huge difference and I basically just got it off in the first try. [Good stuff because screw doing the third biome again, it's so annoying]
So here's where I'm kinda pissed I had an excellent run at this point. 300 percent health. Parasites that are giving me cheat death + protection and damage buffs... Then I lose it all immediately when I reach biome 4 for the first time. Wtf? I get that you get better weapons but f**k man; that run was killer. Really solid RNG. Manage to reach hyperion in the same run and then proceed to die in his third phase. I get why they do it thematically but I'm pretty sure he dies if I had my biome 3 loadout.
Anyway, the game is still amazing. I love the gameplay loop. Hopefully I'll finish it up by next week since I found biome 4 is kinda easier than 3 for sure [even with just an upgraded pistol].

Ahh yes I went and checked. I think I will get 1 year with the iPhone, and 3 months with the Macbook. Makes no sense, they should give 1 year with the Macbook too
I believe if you do activate both on the individual accounts, yes they would overlap.

This makes sense, because I bought Macbook directly from Apple's website, and its only 3 months.

Hoping these 3 month trials for each device last me enough to watch both Ted Lasso and Foundation (starting September) then.
I've used the free trial too. Doesn't matter. I got a year of ATV free when I got my 12 pro max. Just logged into the app on the phone and it was ready to claim. Now the PS5 also has an additional 6 months that can be clubbed into it.
If you want to use it, sign in with your apple account on your mom's iphone during setup. Claim the offer and then wipe it and do another setup. Then you can club the extra 3 months from your macbook when it arrives. Another option is I believe to just do apple sharing. You can set it up on one account. Add another account for family sharing and you can use ATV via that.
EDIT: Just noticed my subscription is valid till 2023. If you want just pm me and I can add you to my ATV account for family sharing. -

There are plenty. Unfortunately Aliexpress doesn't take orders anymore. But a few sellers message you to buy from them on ebay instead. Granted, it's a bit more expensive but at least they deliver.

This seller is someone who I contacted via aliexpress and he asked me to go via the ebay route. Granted, I don't expect the fit or finish to be anywhere close to dark plates, but it is literally 1/4th the cost.-

It's not the cleanest but it gets the job done. With the brightness around 40 percent, the orange hue being concentrated on the right isn't really visible.

You can always mod a paperwhite to have warm light. Basically pry open the front, take a highlighter and color the leds slightly. CLose it up. Downside is that it isn't adjustable on the fly compared to the oasis, but you can turn off the back light during the day and when you switch it on at night you get the warm/orange glow that's easy on your eyes.
Source: I've done it myself on my 7th gen kindle paperwhite instead of splurging for the Oasis.

Right but I guess this is a moot point for me since I'm starting fresh. Indian PSN account with PS+ seems the way to go.

I was under the impression that PSN doesn't have regional pricing? To stop people from abusing switching regions to get cheaper games.
In any case, that's good to hear. I guess I'll just go ahead with an Indian PSN account and buy PS+ as well as all games from there. It'll be good to have all my games under one account too.

Another question: I plan on going as digital as possible [with only the occasional disc or two] so... how do most people go wholly digital? Do you make multiple accounts for different regions and buy stuff from each store depending on what's cheaper? Or is India's store for PSN the best overall? I've seen recommendations that the US PSN has the best sales deals and it's best to make a US account and buy stuff from there. But from what I've seen:
- PS+ is 2999 for a year in India vs ~4400 for the US one- Games like Spiderman which need an upgrade seem to cost less here? ~1000 vs ~1500 if using a US PS account
- Even games like Persona 5 Royal seems to be cheaper here. 1500 vs ~2000 on the US PS store [during this sale].
- PSN US cards have markup [ [I was checking on prepaidgamercard and there's a markup ranging from 10-25 percent depending on the gift card] so whatever potential savings one would have from the US region are sort of negated by this?
Am I missing something? It seems like PSN deals in India are better overall? You just make one account and all your purchases are under one account, rather than having them spread across multiple accounts
Also, if I have PS+ on my Indian account, I can't take advantage of it to grab the discounted PS+ price for a US account right? I'd need to purchase PS+ for the other account as well.

So is 2999 the cheapest its going to be to get a year of PSN until next June? Just got my ps5 and since I'm coming after skipping the previous generation, there are a lot of exclusives from the PS+ collection I want to play.

If it's 1k that works out to 1.3 versus just outright buying a digital code for Spiderman:Remastered for 1800 from prepaidgamercard.

II was wondering, to anyone who has purchased the PSN dlc for Spiderman:Remastered from S:MM; how much was the upgrade? Is it cheaper to grab it from PSN IN or PSN USA.

The dedicated button for changing profiles is QoL. Minor imo. Start + A/X/Y works well enough
The back buttons are not two additional buttons you can use. You can configure it to a macro or map an existing button to it. Even in android.

Looking for a controller for Steam

1) Open steam in big picture mode.
2) Go into controller settings and enable playstation support
3) Plug in controller.
That's it. I've only had to do it only once.. After that, I exited big picture mode. I guess big picture mode is running in the background because every time I start steam with the controller plugged in or plug in the controller while steam is running, I get the popup asking me to activate big picture which I just close.
