EA Sports Active 2.0 Coming To PS3 And Wii

EA has announced that EA Sports Active 2.0 will launch on the PlayStation 3 and Wii later this year.

The new fitness software is powered by a variety of wireless controllers - leg and arm straps with motion sensors, and a heart rate monitor "to capture intensity."

The wireless control system is there to give players complete freedom of movement, apparently, and the heart rate monitor will let you monitor the intensity of your workout and help the game track your data so it can improve your performance. EA Sports Active 2.0 also has an online hub for tracking and sharing workout data, which will act as a bit of a social hub for players wanting to get in touch with others or join up with workout groups, and it'll have the ability to download new workouts.

EA SPORTS ActiveThen there are the new fitness programmes. There's going to be a three-phase, nine-week programme, as well as a load of mini-programmes that can be added on. All the while, you'll have your EA Sports Active personal trainer cajoling you and mocking you for being a fatty. Or, if I don't make things up, it'll provide encouragement and feedback.

EA Sports Active 2.0 is due out this Autumn on PlayStation 3 and Wii.
