Further INFO :

Frontlines: Fuel of War is set 20 years in the future in the midst of a global energy crisis. As supplies of oil and natural gas wane, diplomatic relationships between the East and West were strained, causing new alliances to be formed. The two major alliances in the Frontlines era are the Western Coalition, consisting of the United States and the European Union, and the Red Star Alliance, made up of Russia and the People's Republic of China. As the last oil fields start to go dry, the countries move to secure what resources are left, leading to several small outbreaks that turn quickly into full scale war.

The game will have a cinematic feel, said to combine the non-linear action of Battlefield and the concentrated gameplay of Call of Duty.

Gameplay :

The gameplay focuses on a central mechanic, the frontline. This is designed to keep the action in one place, by focusing objectives closer together on the battlefield. The frontline also has bonuses. By moving it back and forth across the battlefield, the player may gain or lose weapons and equipment. The frontline mechanic will be used in all gametypes, which forces players to choose which objectives they will pursue or defend, adding a tactical level to the gameplay.

The UAV Drone will play a crucial role in gathering information in real time on the battlefield. The drone will reconnoiter enemy units, which are visible through walls, and then show them on the player's HUD and map. It can also be used as a kamikaze bomb, by running it into enemy infantry and self destructing it.

Three other drones have been confirmed, the Assault Drone, a small treaded vehicle with a mounted gattling gun, a Mortar Drone, with a mounted four barrelled mortar, and the RC drone, which can be packed with C4 and used to destroy armoured targets.

In an interview, Kaos stated that there will be more than 60 vehicles and weapons in the final game. For further information, Frontlines Warfare, an independent fansite, has pages on both vehicles and weapons.

Airstrikes will also play a large part in gameplay, being an effective way to destroy an opposing force from a distance.

From the screenshots of the game, several vehicles may be included in the game, including attack helicopters, tanks and fast attack vehicles.

In an interview with developer Joe Halper, Kaos has stated that 32 player multiplayer will be supported for the console versions. The PC version of the game will support 64 players online. The game will not support Live Anywhere, with the developers saying that the PC and console versions of the game will be separate.

Frontlines Dev Shines Light On PS3 Delay

From Kotaku

When publisher THQ announced a series of delays, pushing three of its marquee titles—Frontlines: Fuel of War, de Blob and Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon—one title stood out curiously, as only the PlayStation 3 version of Frontlines was coming later than its PC and Xbox 360 counterparts. Gamespot's recent Q&A with the game's senior producer, Joe Halper, reveals that "the Unreal Engine has some challenges with the PS3--you'll see with other developers--it's kind of a little late in the game with Epic, which is unfortunate." His comments were made before the announcement of the PS3 delay, but he later illustrates that every platform has its challenges.

He tells Gamespot that development on the Xbox 360 was harder due to the 32-person multiplayer goal and that the PS3's smaller available memory makes it challenging to develop for. Plus, SIXAXIS controls are still being balanced, adding an extra layer of development difficulty.

Halper discusses how the PS3 controller will be used in greater detail later in the interview.

Frontlines' delay is just another reminder that Epic and Sony Computer Entertainment had better be making good on their intentions to make the Unreal Engine a better fit for the PlayStation 3.

im up for some mp tonight...

it has more than 60 weapons...all feel and sound so good....u have classes liek air support, ground support, emp tech and drone tech...with air support u can call in air strikes, ac130 gunship and other stuff....and ground support u have repair things with which u can fix ur vehicles and evrything...and fix machines guns at places....with drone tech which according to me is the most fun class...u can control stellite drones ..amazing fun..in this game u have tanks, helis and other vehicles....gfx are also damn good....ill say they are as good as cod4...

Mp is the best thing in this game...sp was ok..story is good...but hey did battlefield have a SP...did counter strike have a sp.....what about unreal ?,,,....well this is a mp game loaded with dedicated servers and..even in the demo the servers are full...32 players can play at a time....very good maps...and when u kill someone u feel so satisfied man..

anyways after playing both sp and mp demos

i will give this game 7.317/10....for SP....but i love the sp's story ./...and too many weapons in it which is great

MP 8.937/10 GOOD fun if many indians get this.....

if i lived in the us or uk i would give this game 9.173/10 because we would have dedicated servers with NO LAG.....
