For sure, it will cost a bomb. Problem is the limited VR software (only one shown so far) which is the same reason preventing me from buying the Xbox series x.  Time and Again these specialized hardware are always missing the critically acclaimed software not in gaming but also in movies like IMAX dome.

I expect older games like Half Life Alyx and RE8 to be added.

I wanna play Half Life Alyx so badly. The lack of good top tier games on VR is another reason i think the HW and tech is still niche. Plus, it’s too costly.

  2. So fu*king frustrating. Suspended in 3rd biome. Resumed today morning...some big dude came, 2 shotted me down. All progress gone. :wallbash::ranting::ranting::ranting:

At this rate..I'll lose interest in this game...only because of gameplay I keep playing once in a while.

    Here's what'll happen, IMO:

They will have some silly upgrade system like, you might need to boot up the PS4 version (even if you are on the PS5) and then upgrade from the in-game store or some BS. Then, you will get a digital key (which was supposed to be $10) which will be free which will now make you eligible to download the PS5 version.

All this, coz Sony is Sony.

Bhendi, if it wasn't such a nice game that I'm hyped about, I wouldn't bother with such silly things. But, oh well...

    I think you are right.

Eventually it will directly install PS4 version on your PS5 when you pop-in the disk. You have to manually go and claim the PS5 version, otherwise you will just play the PS4 version by default in your PS5...which is weird because the system cannot understand that you want the system compatible version by default...which by CEO of friggin' Sony, is free (after the backlash). Crossgen is so flarking messed up in Sony console than Microsoft.

  4. I would really like to own ps5 box for this game. I'm abit irritated that Sony hasn't reduced the price of PS5 version as basically PS4 version will give you free upgrade of a 4999inr version at 3999 inr.

I dunno what innovative way around Sony will invoke for this game in future. Maybe the PS4 version to PS5 upgrade no longer gonna work after sometime, maybe it could be one time claim for the PS4 version (with a key) and could be account lock. There lots of variables that can be there and I'm cynical to trust Sony to be soo consumer friendly that this ps4 version will be a guaranteed long haul version for ps5 or next playstation.

Who knows, maybe they will come and could say only PS5 version will be playable on ps6 in future or maybe ps5 version will be eligible for DLC purchase of PS5 version, PS4 to PS5 version wont be having DLC upgrade for ps5, you have to buy the complete game on ps5 again...so on.

Saying this because as an example, I don't own Miles Morales and thus I have no access to get SpiderMan remastered edition whatsoever even after owning Spiderman with all the DLCs.

  5. All this is fine and all...

But what version should we get? Why the price is still 4k and 5k for ps4 and ps5 respectively when there is "FREE" upgrade? What am I missing? Why there is no talk on media regarding the price parity even after free upgrade announcement?
Did they kept PS5's price like that in hope to dupe people who don't know better?

  6. For Elden ring performance on ps5, please have a look from 11:52 time mark. On the test, it's still jittery...not sure if that's gonna improve on release or not. Remains to be seen.

Is it the same thing that happens in Bloodborne? I feel something is off there too.. makes my head hurt

Bloodborne had THE MOST AWFUL frame pacing out of all FromSoft games. I still couldn't finish that game due to that. And wanted a PS5 patch so that I could play without feeling like puking.

which 60fps Fromsoft games have frame-pacing issues?

I played Sekiro on PS5 at 60fps. It stays rock solid at 60 and didn’t feel choppy

I think 30fps Fromsoft games on last gen hardware are more susceptible to frame pacing and choppyness

60fps mode on next gen shouldn’t have frame-pacing choppiness for Elden Ring imo

Back in it's time, Sekiro on ps4 pro had this issue (you can see DF's video about it). So was the DS and BB. Haven't played Sekiro on PS5 (because its 3 yrs old game now and don't have the disc anymore) so no idea if that is patched. I know BB and DS ain't.

I'll wait for Elden Ring review from DF before thinking to get on PS5...I would rather get it on PC I think...lesser price, guaranteed performance.

60fps on both ps5 and xsx

    Frame Pacing =/= FPS count.

Frame pacing is how the frames are interlaced with each other in time interval. If frame pacing is done correctly, even 30 fps will feel smooth. If not, then even 60 fps will feel choppy. Refer to Sekiro DF video for better understanding.

FromSoftware had this issue with it in Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro...etc. (basically problem with their engine) This is very well known. Let's hope they fix that issue in Elden Ring.

  10.

“And not just with Elden Ring, but with all the games we make. Graphical fidelity is not something we put as the top priority. What we ask for on the graphics side depends on the systems and requirements of the game itself, and it takes less priority compared to the other elements of development.”

Fine, your niche followers won't even ask for it. But Demon's Souls artists, tech art, engine team really did something amazing plus their ENGINE is more versatile. But you gotta work on that FromSoftware dated engine first, god that awful frame-pacing it has.

FromSoftware really has great art direction no doubt. But their graphics is restricted due to their engine mostly. I don't believe that their artists can't do Demon's Souls lvl art....they certainly can, but they might have time constraints plus that engine limitation.

Aree these are new lineups they are bringing to test the water...OLED on monitors already brought up by LG before. But they didn't sale...due to high price plus the OLED burn in issues...

You go to their Global site, all ROG gaming monitors listed there are still high frequency IPS. Means those are the monitors only that sells. I'm not against OLED mind you, I have a 55inch LG OLED tv hooked with my ps5. But Oled is there where it belongs, at living room as TV and for console gaming. For PC gaming, the tech has a long way to go to be mainstream on PC.

  12. Also. No one on PC plays multiplayer at 4k.

Every competitive gamers plays either at 1920x1020 at 144hz/165hz/240hz. Or 2560x1440 at 144hz/165hz.

If you are a sole console gamers, Gaming monitors is not for you. If you are a multiplayer pc gamer, gaming monitor is the way.

Plus 42-55inch TV hooked infront of you as monitor? Goodluck with that peripherals vision of finding that enemy at the corner.

Not to be rude but aap kya professional gamer hain? Bade aye 120hz ke uper khelne wale  120hz is more than what 99% of gamers need and practically, majority of people here are console gamers and 60hz is what they will get to play in performance mode of most games

    1) 120hz is more than what mortals here can handle @ 4K resolution. It also has 1ms response time because of OLED technology

also if you want 165/240 hz, my 1st question is which professional gaming team do you play in? No? Then, 120hz is more than enough for your gaming sKiLls

    2) ‘Gaming’ monitor, not ‘work’ monitor. It will be used for gaming and media consumption.

Work on your laptop or some other monitor

All the points you said might be well applicable for console games. PC multiplayer gaming and usage are still very user centric.

I personally have 144hz. And I actually cannot play competitive games such as Valorant at lower frequencies. Infact I boosted up (OCed) 144hz to 165hz. Difference is visible. Same way it is for 120 to 144hz. Now this topic gonna vary person to person and is quite subjective.   I can distinguish, thus I think higher frequencies are better. You may disagree but as I said…It’s subjective.

Other point is, Burn-in. Yes, TVs are TVs and monitos are, well monitors.
In monitor there will be static image in longer period due to the nature of usage, and that could cause a Burn in for that panel. Wonder why no other monitor manufacturers bringing oled to monitor segment? That’s the reason.

LG was doing some experiment of bringing oled to monitor segment with some more tech, but it didn’t get much traction. Maybe unless in future when OLED mitigate the burn-in problem I don’t think nobody gonna rush to buy OLED tv instead of a good monitor.

and also the last factor is price.

So I personally do not agree with your notion of “gaming monitors are dead” now.

Throw that Jet Engine Pro into dumpster now.

lol...I also have Nintendo Switch which plays new switch exclusives games at a buttery smooth 15 fps (hyrule warrior) at an epic res of 540p to 380p.

CDPR missed the opportunity to release the game on that platform as well.

OLED announced. Gaming monitors are dead now.

    No.

High refresh rate, very low input lag are still on monitors. Monitors are VFM. OLED as monitor is BAD idea due to image burn-in. PC screens are very static during works..so current OLED tech isn't optimum for monitors. For media, casual SP gaming... OLED TVs as monitor can be possible, but not for work or high tick rate, quick reflex, low input lag multiplayer gaming at all.

From what i heard SX BC version is pretty good compared to other console versions. It uses One X resolution and graphics and runs at 60fps pretty much all the time.

If u on SX or PC,get it now

    I dont have XSX...only PC, ps4 pro, ps5 etc..

  17. Console version still sucks tbh. But the pc version doesn't. I have both version thus I can compare by myself and see the difference.

At IGN Japan, the game has been awarded GOTY..but ONLY for PC version. Console can control market, can make or break a game for sure, but atleast it needs to be specific. Like console version of CP2077 is bad.
