Chaztin
Viewing angle is very crucial, I have seen many probs with Plasma, and there is not as much probs seen with Viewing angle in LCDs. LCD ftw.
skdMrk
Will this be a BIG BIG problem if anybody wants to wall mount any of 'em ? or Not ? Maybe, best is to check out the monitor yourself i.e if u can find one!!! I almost bought this one as I got a quote of Rs.16800 (all inclusive) on this monitor through a friend who is working in Dell. But because of this problem I have finally decided to go for LG L226WTQ which is available for Rs. 13K in Croma, Bangalore!!! Another good alternative is Dell's SP2208WFP, this also has the same viewing angle problem!!! (but this one got HDMI & webcam) LG L226WTQ has viewing angle of 170 against Dell's 160!!! satanicsaint
Bumping an old thread as topic remains relevant but could do with new inputs. I just picked up a new rig but without a graphic card and a display. I have a total budget of 21k for this purpose and I plan to use the display later on on a 360 ( ideally HDMI- HDMI connection) Please suggest. My rig AMD X2 6000 Dual core (2mb L2) GigaByte MA78GM-S2H (with HDMI and HD 3200 on board ) 500 GB Seagate (32mb) 2gb*2 800mhz DDR2 Ps - The mobo supports ATI Hybrid Graphics

NeoeN
^ ^ Question :- Have you ever gamed on an xbox 360 or a ps3 hooked up to a 24 inch Full HD monitor, and noticed the difference? Because my eyes must be really bad, that i have not been able to see any potential gains. Please keep in mind that till date no game(PS3 & xbox) is at native 1080p resolution. satanicsaint
@ strategy 24" is out of question bro as my combined budget for display and card is 21k @ Neoen For comparison purposes assuming I pick up the HD 4870 , should I be looking for a 20 inches or 22 inches display. More specifically what difference will I see in "Crysis" say at high quality, 1900×1200, 4xAA and 8xAF?

zophar
i havent tried to run crysis yet, i have Leadtex 7800 GTX x 2 in SLI ... Only game I play on PC is Oblivion , I don't know how well Crysis would run as the graphic cards are 'old' now edit : Max resolution 1680 x 1050 Got this in India, I was earlier using a Dell 2405 24" monitor and I find the Viewsonic not to be too much of a step-down

Im not sure if they have released 20 - 22 inch Monitors in india with a native resolution of up to 1900x1200. So thats out of the question. As for the main reason why im suggesting the 4870, is because i saw it as a cheap deal over at TE, compared to the 4850 for 8K odd. Dude, the resolution + performance is very subjective, i really would like to request you to go to a friends place / showroom or something, and check things out, to get a feel for it your self. (Once again, its my famous) "There are two ways of looking at this" (quotes) :- 1) Get a 4850 + a decent 22 inch IPS panel from dell (Wide angle's, sleep and watch movies, 4850 is just a mid end card) 2) Get a 4870 + a 17 - 20 inch TN panel from anyone (160 Viewing angle, fast response rate, cant sleep and watch movies, 4870 can be considered "future proof") Both has its pro's and con's. Make sure it has HDMI, so you can hook up your PS3 / Xbox360 If you are not that serious about the graphic card, im speculating a new revision from ATI should hit the markets around June, since thats the time when they usually release next gen stuff (but i cant confirm it sorry). satanicsaint
Thanks to you both, you have been of tremendous help. I had almost zeroed in on the BenQ E2200HD untill I read the article posted on TE ( link in neoen's post). It talks about cropping the height on that panel to make it full HD. The poster is recommending Dell 2209 WA , which comes at a rather steep price tag. I also enquired with the dealer in Bangalore who says currently the BenQ E2200HD is not in stock and I will have to wait for another 10 days. satanicsaint
Went to a few shops today looking for Benq E2200 HD, it was indeed sold out in every shop I enquired. Kazekage Gaara
Hi guys, Well, I was thinking of getting the BenQ E2200HD. It was recommended to me by Helios on one of our MSN chats Well, at the time when I had that chat with him, I wasn't quite serious about it as I was thinking of getting a Sony 32", but somethings came up in life, and I don't have that kinda budget anymore, and frankly speaking, I just can't wait anymore for getting a 360 . Now, before the 360, you have to have an HD LCD TV, and I was thinking of getting the BenQ E2200HD. I have yet to speak with Helios personally on MSN (he's offline atm), but I would really appreciate your suggestions too Has anybody bought this ? Is it good ? Is there something better than this at the same price range of approx Rs. 11,750/- (theITwares price) or Rs. 12,500/- (official price - not sure though ) I've read some really good reviews on the internet about this thing Also, currently am using a 17" LG CRT, so the BenQ will fit in nicely with my computer needs too What say guys PS: I did make a search here at GI about "E2200HD" and got some really good results, and I so wanna check out who bought it in the "What you bought this week" thread but I just can't go through the 497+ posts in that thread I wish we had a "Search This Thread" feature here at GI
