Ooh i really enjoyed that mission. The visuals were great.

I felt the best visuals are in that forest area and that coastal area.  That Harding quest area(Dwarven mining) was good too, very reminiscent of lotr setting!

  2. Completed The Seige of Weisshaupt main quest.  It was alright, a little too intense for my liking - so many enemies spawning left and right.  The boss fight at the end of the quest was a let down as well.

Also, just checked a walkthrough to see how far I’m into the game and looks like this is just the mid point.  I’ve already spent over 30 hours.  Looks like a 60-70 hour game with side quests !

  3. Completed ‘the waiting stone’ quest of Harding yesterday.  Visited those dwarven mines as part of that quest and man, the architecture was so good.  I felt it was designed based on what we got to see in the LOTR movies.

Generally, I’m quite impressed with the variety of maps in the game.  Of course they are all small and disjoint and need fast travel to visit them(many of them are vertical instead of wide areas) as compared to other open world games, but each is designed very differently with its own theme etc.

But mind you @Big Boss don't go in expecting this game to be throwing full action every minute, it's a massive game with lots and lots of talking and decision making. Just like RDR2.

So keep your expectations in check.

I love how even after so many years rdr2 is still the gold standard for open world game design

Oh vidayamuracchi is on Netflix already? I had seen it's trailer and it looked interesting. Can it be watched with parents? Violence is fine, just no sex or uncomfortable romantic scenes.

Yeah no such scenes, it’s made for theatrical family viewing I guess.  Also I think first time for an Indian movie, it’s shot in Azerbaijan completely !

Saw Leo. What a movie. Loved it. Bollywood can't make such movies. Also special effects especially on that Hyena were pretty good. Over the top action but loved it.

Try “vidayamuracchi” on Netflix if you liked Leo.  I liked this one much better.  I later got to know it’s a remake of breakdown, but since I hadn’t watched it I liked this movie.  Also it’s not typical masala movie with non stop action, it’s more of a thriller and I felt it’s much more grounded compared to regular masala movies.  Even the Malayalam film - officer on duty(Netflix) was pretty good too , although it’s not your typical masala entertainer.

  7. Ok, so 24h into the game, recruited all the companions I guess, on level 23 now.  The game has been pretty good so far.  Contrary to the cartoony visuals, the game has been very mature in its content so far. I just don’t get what’s up with all the hate.  I haven’t played inquisition, so maybe the fans of that game didn’t like it ?  Even writing wise, except the fact that you can’t go aggressive/piss of your companions, it’s been good so far.  At least the main quest has been engaging until now !

  8. Completed the game, it was a decent game, very good in certain aspects, but “room for improvement” in others.

     Pros:

    - engaging plot, kept me hooked until the very end as I couldn’t wait to discover what’s going on !

    - brilliant side stories/mysteries and collectibles quests which are engaging on their own.

    - decent puzzles, not too hard, not too straight forward, makes you feel good after you solve them on your own !

    - very good settings/atmosphere, especially loved the Vatican and gizeh levels with hidden pathways/alleys/puzzles etc.  Sukhotai was alright.

    - great voice acting, Harrison Ford character model has been nailed true to his original self along with all his mannerisms.

    - good background music which makes you feel as if you’re playing an interactive Hollywood movie !

     Cons:

    - horrible combat design.  I tried my best to escape enemies as much as I can, especially at later levels.

    - very bad final boss fight and most mini boss fights are done badly too, again mostly due to bad combat design!
    - some set pieces could’ve been better, I find the transition between 3p -> 1p jarring in some cases.

The Studio - what a banger show. Only 2 epis out, but I'm hooked.

That scene where Martin Scorsese breaks down

Also, started with se03 of reacher on prime video, and man, where on earth did they get a guy twice the size of reacher :O

That's it. Bored with the game already.

It's repetitive ubisoft mess as always. Now all my mission objectives are in far away spots and most areas are way above my level. So now I am looking at long horse rides (in city area running is faster than horse riding lol) or just running through vast open world of nothingness. Then play the side quests to level up, but the side quests are absolute garbage sh*t tier fetch quests (get 7 tea cups lol) and castles are same old boring mess repeated over and over again. It was extremely fun to play as Yasuke but it got old real fast because guy goes to wanted level super fast and everyone starts attacking him on sight, and he can't climb for sh*t. If you jump in the hay he just bounces off it and hay is destroyed, and if you try to walk in rope, the rope breaks lmao. That was fun but then he can't climb literally a 10 foot wall.

I am just so glad I didn't buy this at full price.

I will play other old AC games for duration of my subscription and end it.

Such a beautiful open world but very empty and repetitive. Ubisoft needs to hire some creative people from Japan or China to make games have gameplay.

lol and you were comparing it to rdr 2

there’s a reason r* takes such long times to release games.  Building an interactive open world is far tougher than it looks.  Even cdpr had to slog for multiple iterations/years to make cp2077 work and even now it’s not even close to gta5, let alone rdr2.  Most ubi games(in fact most open world rpg games) are passive sandboxes, nothing wrong with it though, we can still enjoy them when the main quest/characters/side stories/combat etc are good and the open world is just a backdrop !

Brilliant opening. The cutscenes are amazingly done.

Gameplay is chilled and relaxing. I don't know if this will be fun at hour 15 but story is pretty intriguing.

    How to play songs continously?

Crossing the river n climbing mountains feels amazing.

Baccha bada rota hai but. Climbed 2 mountains only to realize waystation was nadi ke baju mein only :wallbash: Do baar bacche ke saath gir gaya <_<

I played it on pc gp long ago, it was good for a while (esp the cutscenes) , but the novelty wore off after a while.  I finally gave up in that blizzard/mountain level.  The gameplay loop had become incredibly monotonous and boring for me by then ! I just saw a yt video on how the story concludes !

I don't want to only play main story 😭

Anyway leave it. Will get it on sale. Have a huge backlog anyway.

Same here, this might be awesome but with a huge backlog this has to wait.  I couldn’t finish the previous ac games- valhalla/odyssey/origins either, in fact the only ac game I’ve finished is ac2 on x360 😂

  13. Watching  adolescence on Netflix and man it’s slooooow !  I’m used to slow burn shows like mad men or Bosch, but this is like literally watching a documentary/bunch of ppl talk in a room for one hour !  I’m in the third episode and still dont get what the hype is all about - is it the style of shooting (with camera following the actors non stop) or there’s some twist to the story /deep revelation in the 3rd/4th episode ?

Abey bhai. Itney saarey log bol rahein game is great and you still have doubt? Open world is massive, dynamic and lively. Its more fun to play than RDR2 with lot of gameplay variety.

Buy it now or get Ubi premium.

Lol, not asking about the game in general but just the open world specifically.  Anyway, I won’t be able to play this anytime soon, have a massive backlog to wade through first !

Not that interactive but it's stunning to look at. Lot of vegetation density, leaves and butterflies flying. Every strand of grass interacts to your walk or even weapon swings. This has RTGI so lighting is fantastic. Even clouds passing over moon change the lighting in the scene. Then there are so many cute animals. You can pet dogs and cats.

Also a majority of stuff can be cut using katana. Very nice destruction physics. Random encounters are there. It's just really well done.

Got it !  Random encounters would be a welcome addition I guess, most ac games I’ve played so far have been pretty passive sandboxes , glad they took this to the next level !

After RDR 2 this is the open world I am thoroughly enjoying. Just spent hours roaming around, not caring about objectives or map markers. So good. :majesty:

So good huh ? Is the open world as interactive as rdr 2 ? Like can you fool around doing random stuff ?

It’s 900 per month if you buy from Microsoft store.
Gives you access on PC and Xbox consoles.

Here, select the monthly plan instead of the yearly plan.

    https://www.xbox.com/en-IN/games/store/Ubisoft+/CFQ7TTC0QH5H

It shows yearly plan to be still cheaper, coming to just 449 per month.  Of course depends on how long it takes you to complete, for someone like me I need at least 3-4 months to complete a game like this.

also cool that the game is receiving accolades.  I’ll wait for discounts and some fixes/patches/instruments to come in.

    just keep playing

Just completed the quest about that demon guy and looks like the game has opened up a bit now, see a couple of side quests on my map.

Also after some 7h or so of gameplay, I’m digging the artwork/visuals too, it’s very dark fantasy world-esque and cities/environments are designed accordingly.  There’s a good amount of lore to read through as well. The gameplay is still kinda flat, hope I get to unlock some cool abilities later!
