You pick between Kassandra, the female protagonist, or Alexios, the male protagonist, both of whom are descendants of Leonidas I, the famous king of Sparta during the Second Persian War. The choice won't really affect the game that much, but it allows players to further personalize their experience. 2. New combat abilities Odyssey spices up the series' combat with new special abilities. These decisions will even have an impact on how the game ends. 5. Mercenaries Odyssey has its own system of checks and balances with the inclusion of mercenaries. Because there is no formal police service in Greece, citizens will employ mercenaries to take out people who have wronged them, including you. 6. Big battles Odyssey takes place during the Peloponnesian War, which means there will be large-scale battles like the series has never seen before.
