But you knew that already. Don’t ask us how E-Xpress Interactive pulled it off, but for the first time, an AAA PC title is set to hit stores for under Rs 500 in a market where such titles usually retail for Rs 999 to Rs 1,299. The release date for the game was initially set at December 3, but due to logistical issues, the game has been delayed slightly and we’ve got word from E-Xpress that it should be in stores in the next couple of days. Needless to say, the game is going to fly off the shelves.
But while we all marvel and the game’s low price, here’s something more for GTA fans. E-Xpress is also releasing all five PlayStation 2 Grand Theft Auto titles – GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, and Vice City Stories – at Rs 799, and both PSP titles – Liberty City Stories, and Vice City Stories – at Rs 999.
As for the older GTA games on PC, GTA3 is set to be relaunched at a ridiculously low price of Rs 199. Vice City and San Andreas too are set to be relaunched at revised prices, but we don’t have official word on the exact prices; although they can’t be more than GTA IV’s Rs 499 price point.
But while PC gamers rejoice and rub their hands in anticipation, there have been reports of technical issues with the PC version. Head on over to Tech2 for more information on these reports. And lets hope that these are isolated issues and after such a delay following the release of the console versions, PC gamers a rewarded with a quality game.
