EA posts $221 million profit; FIFA 11 ships 15 million

EA has just posted its financial results for this fiscal year, and it’s impressive. After a string of losses, they have bounced back to post $221 million profit, on revenue of $999 million.

Star Wars: The Old Republic and Battlefield 3 have broken EA pre-order records, and are on track for a gigantic launch.

Selected Operating Highlights and Metrics:

  • EA held five of the top ten paid games on Verizon, two of the top ten paid games on the iPhone, and two of the top ten paid games on the iPad in June 2011.
  • Portal 2 sold in over two million units in the first quarter. On catalogue, Crysis 2 sold in approximately three million units life to date; Dead Space 2 and Dragon Age 2 have both sold in over two million units life to date.
  • EA was the no 1 publisher in Western markets with 16% segment share in the June quarter.
