  1. Don't get me wrong, it's still a must play title overall. And Stray comparison are a bit funny But it's not be all end all or anything like that. Plenty of games equally good.
  2. You should allow him to play it. Also, I would like to play this.
  3. Yeah, am also looking forward to Helldivers 2. Would have preferred if they kept top down game as well like part 1.
  4. Why the reverence though? Once you put it under microscope and compare to a good book or TV show it falls apart. Joel's character is poorly developed. What he did at the end was a total surprise to me.
  5. You are talking about creativity and their games output.
  6. Bringing up these games while trying to downplay xbox games and creativity

I will post my impressions after playing it. What must play tag are you talking about? That metacritic one? I see, what makes some other shallow game "must play" while this one is not? Roaming around on countless planets, taking in celestial sunset/sunrise with a gas giant on horizon. While epic soundtrack plays in background. This is what I expect out of this game. If it delivers, it's a must play. But, I will say more only after playing it.

Interesting that you think it's nothing new. Has been done a 100 times before? I would like to see your favourite studios take a shot at game like this.

I don't have any knowledge of Bethesda engine, so can't say anything about it. One thing I will say is, Skyrim was very good at pacing. You are never walking for too long while exploring to reach next landmark. I am assuming this is the reason they decided to have you choose a landing point, then populate everything around you. This will of course involve a loading screen. Am not entirely sure what's the point of entering seamlessly in a planets atmosphere. Then fly for 10 mins to point of interest.

That's good to know. GameSpot was quite clear in their review it's a shallow game and doesn't have rpg elements. I hope it's not a Prey (2017) type of situation. I stumbled upon that game by mistake. Already have very little faith in reviewers after that. Will just stop watching them if they are caught lying. At least IGN wasn't very clear cut with it's criticism as to why they didn't liked it as much. Once you fly to the planet, you can land anywhere. Where exactly will game designers put a quest and points of interest? It's a challenge they cannot go beyond. Jedi Survivor has way smaller scope. All of it is hand crafted. No Man's Sky is fully procedurally generated. I don't think Bethesda can really do that. Besides their games are always segmented because of number of variables.

Talking about seamlessness. Lack of loading screens. You can travel to 1000 planets. And do stuff, am assuming near where you land.

Anyone expecting seamless space travel in Bethesda RPG is straight up being disingenuous or doesn't know how they work. Game would be impossible without segmentation. Every small area has its own NPCs with routines, small objects you can interact with, role playing possibilities, different states of factions, your reputation etc... Segmentation keeps bug count low. This is not Mass Effect situation where game has 5-6 states that they can keep track of easily. Player could have wrecked all sorts of havoc. Other criticisms, I will see how it is after playing it. Have seen some wild criticisms from professional reviewers.
  13. I don't see how he has broken the game here, really. He doesn't do it all the time. From what I have seen, he goes indepth in games, and if it breaks, it breaks.
  14. What's with Dunkey giving actual review of the game instead of some funny sh*t.
  15. Maybe you should refrain from posting on public forum if getting sound advise hurts you

My rule of thumb for Bethesda RPGs is to invest in sneak and sneak attack boost. Makes for a lot of fun encounters. Might be applicable here as well. Just headshot everyone from shadows. More advanced builds will of course need a lot more head scratching.

Did you check skill tree? Any builds you are interested in? One bizzare criticism I heard you cannot make any builds in the game. It has skill tree but no builds are possible. Is it true?
  18. I will reply to this after playing the game. Right now am not sure what's going on, getting conflicted info.
  19. Just play the games you enjoy. FH5 definitely is quite rewarding once you start getting it.

Witcher 3 seems fine to me. It's separated into tabs. I only spend time in armour/weapon section. Other sections you don't need to look at.

Heard FSR is mandatory. All new games are optimised with upscaling in mind. In Remnant 2 it gives a huge boost. Goes very low without it.
  22. Let's see. GameSpot review said rpg mechanics are shallow. Kinda pointless to play such Bethesda game. But other reviewers are saying they are good. Only one way to find out.
  23. Am I missing something? Digital foundry video is praising performance and visuals.
