Aftrunner
So the expansion is up for pre order on steam. And you get Saints Row 2 free with it if you pre order, nice deal for people who are looking to grab it there.
Aftrunner
EG review. 9/10. Sold!
Don Karnage
From EG review - The mission structure has been overhauled to be less shallow, too. Chaos Rising is mercifully free from the infuriating repetition of its predecessor, each main mission a happy bundle of scripting, spectacular environmental destruction and brief mid-scrap cut-scenes. I'm buying it too
Anshul
When will Chaos Rising be released in India ?
Aftrunner
So anyone got/getting this (the expansion)? I am planning to pick it up over the weekend.
Tyler
I was this close to picking it up today. But I had already picked up Metro and JC2. I'll get it later. Besides, I've uninstalled DOW2.

spindoctor
what was wrong with the dow2 installation?
Aftrunner
I'd tell ya but I am afraid of being called a liar. My GFWL CD key is printed retardedly, I and 1 look alike so its a bunch of guesswork. Plus the updating was a major pain when it was released. It restarted a bunch of times from scratch for no good reason.
Tyler
And don't forget it made you install and update Steam even if it came in a retail box.
Aftrunner
I still dont get that. Why does it need Steam and GFWL? Surely one would be more than enough. Steam was just completely unused in the game. No could saves, no matchmaking etc. All the online stuff was handled via GFWL. So why the f**k was Steam there at all aside from being one more hurdle you have to jump to play the game? Also on the subject of cloud saves, the most useless feature for any person who plays from home.
Don Karnage
^ Dawn of War II: Retribution on Steamworks - The official announcement. That's right, no Games For Windows Live for Retribution. I know its a month and a half old news but I just noticed it today and finally I can look forward to playing some Dawn of War (can't play Chaos Rising, Bioshock 2 and GTA4: EFLC because GFWL refuses to connect). ALPHA17
Anyone up for Co-Op? P.S. -- relic has started the process to make the game(s) completely independent of Games For Windows Live (and GameSpy) and fully in-line with SteamWORKS. Currently in Open BETA form, and no my game does not freeze, no hit-detection issues, no random crashes to desktop. Also, if you download DoW II, Chaos Rising needs just a 60MB patch to become functional.
