outsider
I'd suggest A Long Walk to Freedom. I found it awe-inspiring.
Bulovski
I want to Gift some books to my Team at work. Average Age of my team is 25 years and Sex Ratio 1:1. I do not want to go for typical Management books, but something that's inspiring and not too preachy. Also something that's not very expensive. Suggestions welcome. Houndini
Should have bought Persepolis instead. Read Bone if you can., i mean if Watchmen is too graphic novelish for your taste :| The men speaketh the truth. Also get Embroideries by Marjane Satrapi (Same author as Persepolis) The one which got me hooked to GNs is The Burma Chronicles by Guy Delisle. I must have read all his GNs at least 5-6 times & probably love them more than any other damn novel out there. Sinfest comes a close second. Aftrunner
Well I want them for keeps so I will need to buy them. Thanks for the offer though. I got my PSPgo from flipkart. The 10 free games I got with it werent the same advertised on the site (8 of them were the same 2 were some sh*t PSP mini games or something, a fact I was well aware of before I bought it ). Now I am trying to guilt them into giving me some sort of compensation for those two games. A 10% off voucher would do very nicely. Going by what I liked as a 14 year old, if you want to go for the classics, go with Austen (Persuasion, because it's usually one you come to later, so she may not have read it. In my view it's the best of her work). If you want something more contemporary, I'd go with The God of Small Things or The Book Thief. outsider
Alternatively, if she's on FB and uses the IRead application, you could have a look at the list of books she wants to read. That way, you know that you're getting her something she wants.
