Hi Guys,

 

I am sharing my experience here regarding the fraud that happened to me when dealing with avinash.ns who was selling his PS3 and a lot of things came to light. He was using multiple ID's on GI: 1) avinash.ns & 2)xbox indian and not sure if he is using any other ID's on GI. Guys be careful when dealing with anybody(especially New Members). Try to get intouch with the person first via mobile or telephone. Dnt be in a hurry to grab a deal however tempting it might be.

 

This guy also cheated gsahmed on Techenclave using the ID sridharcg. gsahmed is also a member of GI(ID: sameer from Delhi).

Its a word of advice. I am not pointing fingers at every new member who has joined, but taking precautions will help you avoid loosing money and faith from dealing with genuine people.

i am writing this to you to inform how the whole PS3 deal happened and how i was cheated of of Rs.16800/- and how i got it back.

 

There was an Ad posted on GI Trading section by Avinash" PS3 for Sale" the price he quoted was Rs16500+ shipping and the reason he mentioned for the sale was that he was leaving to the states along with Sister. lot of people contacted him and due to some reason the deals did not happen and then i PM'ed him and we chatted on GTALK regarding the deal and finalized it. I had also told him not to mention on the forum that he had sold the PS3 to me because my cousin was also trying to get the PS3 and if he comes to know that i have finalized the deal he will misunderstand me. So he agreed thet he will not post on GI regarding the same.

 

He agreed to ship the PS3 through courier or Transport fro Rs.300/- as shipping charges. I transferred the money on 24th Jan to His account. He confirmed the same and told me that he will try to ship PS3 by 27th but that did not happen and he PM'ed saying that he will be coming to Bangalore on 29th Jan to attend a function.He said that way we could meet in person and i could collect PS3 directly from him and there wont be any chance of mishandling or the PS3 getting damaged. So i agreed, but 29th Jan also passed.

There was no reply from him till 31st Jan and he had emailed me to my email addres saying" Hey karthik,

 

i am sorry dude, could not call u, i am actually Chennai for my VISA interview, will be back in Bangalore on monday, will meet u then surely.

In return i sent a strong mail saying "Bro,

 

are you kidding me. Don't take me for granted. Don't be so irresponsible. Act matured dude. How will i know if you are going to Chennai or Bangalore. You are just testing my patience bro. Why dont you keep your word. When you say that you will be in Bangalore on 31st, i trust you and wait for you call. But you just keep making false promises every time. Will i eat you if you call me and inform the same over the Phone. I have provided 2 mobile numbers(09901544909 / 9241735363) for you to reach me. Now don't tell me that my Phone was not reach able, cause that will be an utter lie. I have never had such a bad experience with anybody on GI so far. I never wanted this to happen between us.

 

I felt bad when you PM'ed asking me when you will get the money for the PS3 when i did the online Transfer, cause there was a delay of 1 day and i felt bad about the dealy .......thats how i am and expect the same from others. Moreover you dont even call me. You dont provide your number either, which at times raise doubt about you. These are the promises you made and never bothered to keep them."

 

 

He sent a mail on 1st Feb "relex buddy dont worry, will meet u.

 

bye"

 

after that i received no reply from him.

 

Then on 3rd february i spoke to Helios regarding the same and he told me that he will try to help me and asked to send me the link of the POST on GI. I sent the link and tried reminding helios again but there was no response from him.

 

The next person that came to my mind was Obaid, because i have dealt with him before and knew i could trust him. So i sms'ed Obaid on Friday night(6th Feb) around 11.30 Pm and he immediately called me and i told him what had happened.

 

I asked him if we could trace the Bank account details to which i had transferred the money. Obaid said he will try and let me know by next day afternoon.

The very next day afternoon(8th Feb) as he(Obaid) said, called me and informed me that he was able to get the details of the person. I got down all the details and obaid also mentioned that he had mailed a copy with all the details of the Person to my email address also. That is when i had a little ray of hope smiling at me through Obaid.

 

Obaid told that he had spoken with cyclops and athek regarding the same and asked me to go to the address that he had got along with 2 more people.

 

So i thought that if i could get 1 or 2 people to go with me that would be great.

so i called cyclops first after getting the number from Obaid. Cylops said that he stays far and that he is not familiar with this Place which is @ other end of the city.

 

then i tried Athek, he said that he stays in Marathalli and that also is far away. Athek also said that anything outside GI he cant help and cant get involved in it.

 

Then I tried Arun 360, i explained to him the whole isssue. I also asked him if he could tag along with me, but he also said he would not feel comfortable getting involved in it. so there i was left with nobody to come with me.( I dont blame anybody for not coming, as they have their own reasons)

 

 

So i called Obaid again, he suggested saying that dont worry and asked me to go all by myself and check out the address without any further dealy. After talking to Obaid i decided that i will go alone, no matter what ever happens.

 

Luckily the place was just 12 Kms from my place. I went and found the place after 1 hour. But the account holder(Vishwas) was not available, so spoke to his father and mother who were really co-operative. They said that they were aware that something happened and that his son is not involved and that his cousin Deepak had taken his Sons account details and told that he required the account details as he will receive money into this account from somebody. He also mentioned that his son had withdrwn and given it to Deepak. They mentioned that they will talk to their son let me know what had happened after that. We excahnged numbers and i left.

 

The next day(9th Feb) which was sunday i received call from Viswas's father around 9AM in the morning saying that he had spoken to Deepak, who informed them that his friend Kiran wanted the account details and that he was the one involved in this Deal which happened in GI.

Vishwas's father told me that Deepak had contacted Kiran(the culprit) and had given him my number to contact me and that he will call me with in 10 minutes.

 

After 10 minutes i received call from Kiran, he started off saying that he is not the person who did this, but his younger brother Ashrith and apologized for the problem caused by his brother. Kiran mentioned that he is 32 Years old and working for IBM. I told that if he doesnot refund the money "i will take the issue to the cops" so he requested saying that he will refund the money by Monday as he needs to arrange the money, so i agreed.

 

come monday(9th Feb) and by that time i had found out about a guy(gsahmed - member of tech Enclave) who had been cheated by his Brother. this Guy had also been cheated and it was the same PS3 case which had happened a week before mine and he had also not got any replies after the money was transferred(In this case it is Rs.15500/-). In that forum he had cheated under the name of sridharcg.

 

I found this out when Arun 360 had mentioned to me that a similar incident had happened on TE or Erodev forum a few days back. So to confirm if that person is the same i checked Posted on both GI and TE. The Picture posted on GI was: the console was placed on a table and the pics were taken in the night. On the other hand on TE the console was placed on a table covered with cloth. The way the pics were taken in both forums matched each other and i confirmed that he is the same guy.

 

When Kiran called on Monday i told him that his brother has not only cheated me but also gsahmed, and his brother was shocked to hear this and told that he will refund everybody's money and also mentioned that Dan and reaper were also cheated. ( I came to know this from Obaid as kiran had mentioned that a few weeks back his father passed way and obaid suddenly said that that could this guy be the xbox indian) so just to confirm i told Kiran and he agreed saying that his brother had even mentioned about them also. I told Kiran to return everybodys money or face criminal charges. He requested not to do anything of that sort and will refund everybodys money.

 

Kiran deposited Rs.6300/- out of Rs.16800/- and Dans Rs.1600/- and said that remaining Rs10300/- and Reaper's Rs.1500/- by wednesday or thursday. When asked about gsahmeds money from TE, he said that he had spoken to him and assured him the cash deposit by 15th February. When i spoke to gsahmed regarding this he thanked me and said that Kiran had called and assured him the money will be deposited on 15th Feb.

 

Kiran called me in the evening and said that he has deposited everybodys money. gsahmed's money will be deposited by 15 Feb. I will call him and remind Kiran on 14th Feb.

 

PS: I am in talks with Gautam to sell my GeO 2 LE who said that once the payment is done i could handover the game to Deepak who will be visiting Mysore this weekend and that gautam will pickit up from him. He gave me DEEP@K mobile number which is:0988613611

The reason i am mentioning this here is, earlier i had mentioned Deepak, Vishwas's cousin (account holder) whose account deatils deepak had taken is the same DEEP@K from GI. To confirm this i got the Number from Vishwas's father and he also gave the same number:0988613611. Kiran is also DEEP@K's friend

I think DEEP@K is also involved in this deal with 2-3 other people providing them informatione how GI works. we should take strict measures so that people dont create multiple accounts and cheat other people. Weel rest is upto you guys now. Hope you take a wise decision on this.

 

Today i have received the whole money Rs.16800/- and i am really happy. I would like to Thank Obaid Bhai with all of my heart, because actions speak louder than words and that is what he has done for me.

at techenclave they have even put up a sticky that dont deal with deepak/shridharcg till they clear their dues ..

Yeah I think first off the 50 posts to trade rule needs to be looked at. We are getting a lot of hit and run spam posts because of that (check out some guy named ethan's sterling contribution today).

 

Also I think its a good idea to ask people to post pics of the items for trade or sale like TE. At least that way we know the person selling has the items. I know that hasnt stopped the scamming shits from doing it on TE but still it will be some cover.

Scorpio , great that you got your money back 16k is not a joke , I told Ahmed on TE a few weeks back to contact Deepak , as I learnt from GI that Deepak knew this XboxIndian guy.

 

After coming back from holidays on Jan 18 , I saw the thread of XboxIndian who was selling MGS4 for 1.6k , I said to myself damn I missed this awesome deal , now I realize that I was lucky that I wasn't at home that time.

I can only imagine what kind of trauma you have gone through in past 2-3 weeks. I heard about it from cycle. I m glad you got your money back.

 

From what I have heard, you too have some mistakes at you end.

 

1> You didn't speak to the person directly over phone . You didnt even have a valid number.

2> Since both of you were from bangalore, you could have given cash takes you PS3 in person.

 

I always advice against buying expensive or big items from somewhere other than your own city. You save on shipping and get a chance to meet the person and inspect the item beforehand, plus there is no risk of damage during shipping.

 

If the sellers story about visa and all are accurate then he had clear intention of taking all the money and flying off to US.

 

PS: If anyone see that seller on GI, bring him to shout. He needs to get some bending lessons.
