Tony Hawk 5 leaked, later confirmed by Activision

Tony Hawk 5 was inadvertently leaked by a caterer at a private event, leading Activision to confirm its existence earlier than it would have liked.

In a photo posted on Instagram, which has since been deleted, a screen shows the logo for ‘Tony Hawk 5’. An Activision spokesperson has said that is a working title.

The name, however, does indicate that the new game will be a continuation of the Pro Skater series, which ended with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. That’s good news for fans of the original games.

Hawk had himself confirmed last year that he was working on a new game with Activision.

“I’m currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game). I think fans of [the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater] series will be hyped,” he had said.

The last major Tony Hawk game was the 2010 critical and commercial flop, Tony Hawk: Shred, which came with a skateboard-like peripheral.
