    Days Gone

Lol, I had the same reaction. It drags on too long. At one point, the game will have a mission that'll act as a horde tutorial. You unlock a new "tool" then which helps a lot in dealing with them.
  2. You are right. People who work in the game industry have to figure out a lot of things themselves. But consumers also have responsibility. Everytime a company does something predatory or releases a basic af game, there's always an argument that they get away with it cuz customers allow them to. They just act like mindless consumers and force other devs to use the same tactics cuz everyone's gotta earn. And then everyone's like "Games aren't what they used to be anymore" It all starts with consumers. Period. And my concern isn't fake. Nor am I interested in console wars. I have problems with Sony too.
  3. M not a shill dude. I'm not concerned how much profit MS or Sony makes. But I'm concerned about its impact on game development. People just don't go back to paying for games. Consumer mentality isn't like that. They'll always wanna pay the same. Just like how $70 still hasn't had mainstream acceptance. So what will devs have to do? Include more "creative" ways of monetization like micro transactions and using "games as a service" model. And we know how bad that sh*t is. I'd rather pay $70 for a good game. MS has always been notorious for just throwing money at their problem, buying other great companies and IPs and running them in the ground. Its happened before (Nokia, Zune, Rare, 343) and it'll happen again.
  4. Because the model isn't sustainable. MS is paying out of their own pockets to publishers to have AAA titles on gamepass. In the long run, they gonna either jack up the price which will defeat its value proposition or stop having AAA games. Look what has happened to Netflix now.
  5. LMAO at you calling him Pappu throughout this thread....
  6. Well I have a PS5 so Starfield alone won't do it. If Xbox comes out with atleast 4-5 must-play bangers, I'll consider switching sides
  7. Yeah people always talk about gamepass being ultimate "value" but don't consider the 50k buy-in or the number of games one actually wants to play on there. The way I see it is Sony attracts via exclusive games (which also you may or may not wanna play) and MS via Gamepass. But unlike MS, Sony is actually making money off it. That said, Starfield may change that a bit....
  8. Yeah and also I feel its due to the fact that all big exclusives this gen have been sequels which kinda already have an existing fanbase and hype. The fans kinda do the work for them with their tweets/articles/10min videos over a meager screenshot. Even Nintendo kinda did the same with TOTK and also going as far as shadow dropping the Metroid Remake and one other famous game (forgetting the name now). And they all sold well.
  9. But if you are finding Normal too easy then it's on you to turn it up to make the experience better for yourself.
  10. I don't know man...I'm hyped Just sour about the digital only release. Did you play Control?
  11. When they launched ultimate edition with all DLCs and next gen upgrade, it wasn't given free to deluxe edition/season pass buyers.
  12. Yeah I feel ya....had put in a lot of hours in state of decay on PC.....janky af but super fun and great mechanics..... Yikes.... "For being our highest paying customer....we gift you with an opportunity to pay us once more" That's such an EA tier move.
  13. Hot take dude. Increase the difficulty next time. I'd agree with this usually but I actually want the sequel to have bigger more epic spectacles. The crane sequence from the first game was awesome! And its not like it didnt have good gameplay.
  14. Yep its great! Also loved how gory the combat is.
  15. Will the collector's edition include the disc or not?
  16. I have a Remedy bias so I am sure all this nonsense is caused by 505 games. They pulled a similar move when they published Control Ultimate Edition.
  17. As someone who recently became a console gamer, I love physical discs! If I didn't enjoy a title, I can sell it and recover my money. And if I liked it, its forever there as long as I take care of it. I personally hate collecting "stuff" too, so I only keep games I'd consider 8/10 or above. Digital "ownership" isn't that assuring.... Really wish they release physical for Alan Wake 2. The reasons they've given are really lame. 1. PS5 and XBOX released digital only variants for profits or in this case to make less of a loss per unit sold. Also going digital is generally more expensive for newer games. 2. I doubt it costs so much to print discs. But if it really is that way, increase the price to $70 for physical edition. Let the buyers decide. 3. "We cannot guarantee a nominal 10-15gb day one patch for discs so we'd rather have you download the whole fking 70gb"
  18. I'd suggest show her the first one. It'll make more sense. To give a comparison, the plot is denser than No Way Home. Also imho, the first movie is better.
  19. *SPOILER FREE* Watched it in IMAX this afternoon. I felt that while the visuals and action was indeed amazing, the movie was mediocre af. First half was a drag with unnecessary side plots and rehashing of the "Miles trying to find himself" plot from the first movie. Could've skipped all that. The movie picks up in the second half when the actual plot is revealed but it was kind of dumb (wont go into details since I don't wanna spoil it for anyone). Also, the dialogue is very cringe. Reminiscent of recent MCU movies where they force jokes every couple of minutes. The epic Miguel vs Miles showdown teased heavily in the trailers is done in a very slapstick way. The movie is full of easter eggs and fan service which is sometimes great but the novelty wears away soon. It worked great in the first movie cuz they focused on a handful of spider-men and gave them adequate screen time. This one just feels like they wanted to put as many as they can and have the audience play "Wheres Waldo?". I also found the characterizations of various Spider-men to be really bad. Miguel was the most disappointing. Peter B Parker is barely present and when he is, he acts very goofy and kinda overbearing (Think Phil Dunphy from Modern Family at his worst). On the positive side, one specific spider-man that has been teased in the tv spots was really good. And Miles is good too (wish insomniac would take more cues from the spider-verse version). By the time we are shown something good, the movie ends and you are left wanting for more but in a "thats f**king it?!" kinda way. Felt like a rip-off.
  20. Yup, I agree 100%. It all comes to this. There's no point to the platform otherwise.
  21. I haven't thought too much about how would the platform itself make money. Affiliate links for new copy of the game a user searches for comes on top of my head. Don't wanna make it too intrusive. That's for later though. From my POV, 1 seller going south isn't much of a problem. You seen OLX? Its feels like a digital dumping ground. So many spam results. Even if you are smart, you'd have a hard time navigating that mess. That's a problem for me. Something clean and minimalist, even with occasional bad users which will get banned ASAP (btw OLX only bans scammers, not scalpers or resellers) would be a win in my book.
  22. Yeah I realize all this too that's why I wanna test the system IRL. And you aren't raining on my parade. I wanted to know if people would be interested in the first place and you guys are. Now I can dig deeper. Thanks!
