It’s been a while since I’ve been active on IVG — I think around August 2024 — mainly due to downtime and some login/access issues back then. I’m not fully sure how things have been lately, but it’s good to be back for this. World Cup time is always special here, especially with the prediction contest. Some of the best tournament memories on IVG have come from tracking scores, points, and leaderboard drama match by match 😄 So I wanted to bring it back again this year and keep the tradition going. We ran the EURO 2024 contest on WhatsApp because of frequent and long outages on IVG. I personally prefer hosting it here, but many regular participants had login issues (some were resolved, others persisted), so we shifted to WhatsApp. This time, we’ll try running it here alongside WhatsApp to make sure things go smoothly without interruptions. Participants from IVG are absolutely welcome to join through this thread, and I’m hoping IVG stays stable throughout the tournament. RULES: 1. Participants will submit their scoreline predictions for each Matchday. 2. The deadline for submitting predictions for a Matchday will be before the start of the first match of that Matchday. 3. While posting predictions, please do not interchange the Home and Away teams. 4. Participants are free to post predictions for the entire tournament at once, but it will be more fun if we predict results on a daily basis (or even weekly basis if you are too busy) . 5. Participants are NOT allowed to edit their predictions after submission. If, for any reason, a participant wishes to change a prediction before the deadline, they should strike through the original prediction and post the updated prediction in a new post while quoting the original one. 6. Participants who miss a Matchday deadline may still submit predictions for any matches that have not yet started. For example, if a Matchday consists of four matches and a participant misses the deadline for the first two matches, they may still submit predictions for the third and fourth matches, provided those matches have not kicked off. Any match that has already started at the time the prediction is submitted will be treated as a Missed Prediction (MP). So, predictions must be submitted before kickoff of each individual match to be valid. 7. Missing a prediction will result in a penalty. Missed Prediction (MP) penalty applies when no valid prediction is submitted before kickoff. ------------------------------- KNOCKOUT STAGE RULES: 1. If a match is level after 90 minutes, the scoreline (and outcome) after Extra Time [120' + added/injury time] will be considered correct for the purpose of this contest. 2. This means all three outcomes (Win, Draw and Loss) will still be possible during the Knockout Stage. 3. Goals scored during a Penalty Shootout will not count. 4. Watching ‘from’ on prime video and man, never been so glued to a mystery show so intensely after dark and lost ! Still in season 1, it’s been absolutely brilliant so far ! On a side note, even ‘the boroughs’ on Netflix is pretty good !
