Microsoft may be rapidly losing home console market share to Sony and Nintendo, but Xbox home consoles are here to say.
Xbox president Sarah Bond announced in a new video a “strategic, multi-year agreement” with AMD, which will see the chipmaker’s silicone making its way into future Xbox hardware that Bond described as “a portfolio of devices including our next-generation Xbox consoles in your living room and in your hands”.
Bond doubled down on Windows 11, stressing that the operating system will be at the crux of all Xbox experiences, including handhelds.
Microsoft recently unveiled a new gaming handheld built in partnership with Asus, called the Xbox ROG Ally.
No release window was specified for the launch of the next-generation Xbox console, although earlier this year Windows Central reported that the next Xbox console was greenlit for release in 2027.
