Sony has announced a new PS3 model, titled CECH-3000B. Apparently, the power consumption has been lowered, and it is much lighter than the current PS3 models. There is no price drop accompanying the revision, as it costs 34,980 Yen, and will launch in Japan first.
The new PS3 model was discovered by Andriasang at Sony’s website. Namco Bandai’s Tales of Xilia features a 160gb PS3 bundle that contains these updated units. The new PS3 weighs 2.6 kg and consumes approximately 200 watts. It ships with a Dualshock 3 controller, A/V cable, power cable and USB cable; no extra accessories are mentioned and the bundle will be available later this month. It’s unlikely that it will be available in India, because even getting Namco’s games to release here is hard enough, but we will keep you updated if we hear anything.
