supersim
Band Hero Publisher: Activision Platform: PlayStation 3/Xbox 360/Wii/Ps2 Release Date: November 2009 Release Region: United States The first E10+ rated console game in the Guitar Hero line, Band Hero delivers an exciting music collection featuring top-40 hits designed to expand the experience to a new genre and appeal to a broad family audience who can play together on the guitar, drums, bass and microphone. The game builds upon Guitar Hero's easy-to-play, difficult-to-master signature gameplay and allows novice players and expert fans to join together on their favorite songs. MSN Music's article on the game also mentions that the game disc will house 65 tracks (a partial list can be found after the break) and that DLC for Guitar Hero World Tour will be compatible with the game. Due for release this November on all consoles and DS, the game will also make use of the drop-in, drop-out gameplay feature found in Guitar Hero 5. Just remember: This totally isn't Guitar Hero. The name says so. [Via Giant Bomb] * The All-American Rejects - "Dirty Little Secret" * Jackson 5 - "ABC" * Lily Allen - "Take What You Take" * No Doubt - "Just A Girl" * Taylor Swift - "Picture to Burn" (Plus tracks from Snow Patrol and The Killers) Trailer

HundredProofSam
This is a new brand. Guitar Hero still exists. I don't know what the difference between the two is though. I think this caters to Top 40 music, while Guitar Hero will be rock (Rock Band competitor) peace
Keyofx
^^ Pointless differentiation IMHO. Most rock is POPular music by definition anyway. Offering song discs would have been ideal, but then that would alienate the hardcore :/

HundredProofSam
^^ Pointless differentiation IMHO. Most rock is POPular music by definition anyway. But not all popular music is rock. Just looking at the OP - Lily Allen, No Doubt, Taylor Swift - that's a whole new audience of pre-pubescent kids. peace
