Dramatic storyline, pulse-pounding action, incredible graphics, and revolutionary technology combine to draw you into the most frightening and gripping first person gaming experience ever created. Now, in an epic clash against pure evil you must fight to understand who is with you, who is against you, and what must be done to stop this nightmare from reaching earth. Minimum System Requirements ... • A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500. • 384 megabytes of memory. • Two gigabytes of hard drive space. • An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better. -------------------------------------------------------------- Thought of posting this game info here since I think that no PC Gaming section would be complete without this game! Aftrunner
^^there was another game that year Far Cry And far superior to both HL2 and Doom 3. I loved 2004. Was the best year for gaming as far as I remember. We had so many great games it was hard to keep track. Halo 2, GTA San Andreas (still the best GTA till date), Chronicles of Riddick, Unreal tournament, Ninja gaiden, Rome Total war etc.
Man In The Box
I'm playing Doom 3 on ultra high settings and trust me, it seems as if I am playing, say a 2006 or 2007 game. This game definitely had one of the best graphics back in the day.

Gautam
The gfx werent even close to what doom3 had. IMO. You cannot say that.. There were almost no open environments in DOOM3 whereas Far Cry did an absolutely amazing job in both open environments as well as closed corridor levels.. For that matter Chronicles of Riddick came close to DOOM3 in terms of dynamic lighting and shadows and perhaps had better specular lighting and normal mapping. My pick of the year (overall.. not just gfx) though was Half Life 2 hands down.. 2004 really was an amazing year for gamers!

Gautam
Please tell me that was sarcasm! +1 Though enjoyable, the game has as much innovation as a post MW NFS game. In fact except for the graphics, everything else has probably taken a step backward. If you're finding the game innovative, you've probably missed out on most of the FPSs in the 2-3 years preceding this game.
