But when it comes to Messi, he’s historically been haunted by missed penalties in finals. 

He has better chances to score direct free kicks and goals from outside the box than from the penalty spot. 

Hell, Messi holds the record for most number of missed penalties and also the most goals scored from direct free kicks, among active players. 

This is just one of those insane things that suggest how surreal Messi is.
