Saw these movies recently : - Dhurandhar: I felt this movie was really well made. I went to the morning show over a week ago, and the theater was like 70% full on a weekday. I think most of the people there were couples (like us) who dropped off their kids at school and came to watch it. There were a few scenes that were pretty violent and showed things in graphic detail, which was a bit tough to sit through. There was pin-drop silence in the theater during the red screen/phone call scene. I think the movie tries to give you a realistic look at what a spy’s life is like (with a few minor cinematic liberties which is totally fine). Everyone in the cast did an amazing job! - Avatar: Fire and Ash: In terms of the plot, this movie didn’t really bring anything new to the table. It’s pretty much the same old formula as the first two movies. But on the technical front, I found it to be the most impressive of the trilogy. I felt the 3D images were much crisper, and the special effects were some of the best I’ve ever seen in a movie. I went for the morning show today, and it was almost housefull. - F1: I watched this movie on Apple+. It was a great movie, even though it had the usual Hollywood tropes of such “coming back” movies. I loved the races, though. It’s hard to imagine F1 as a sport in a movie, but they did a really good job of making it feel real. Also, being a millennial, it was funny to see Brad Pitt being referred to as “elderly” more than once lol !
