darkniks
Developer: Double Helix Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Genre: Sci-Fi Action Adventure Release: June 07, 2011 Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintento DS, 3DS, PSP Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment succeeded not at all in keeping Green Lantern's identity a secret, after the film tie-in's cover was blown a full year before the publisher officially announced the game. Now, WBIE has told audiences exactly when they can see what developer Double Helix has been up to these past couple of years. WBIE said that gamers can expect Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters to arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, and 3DS on June 7. That date falls a week and a half prior to the Ryan Reynolds-led film's June 17 box office bow. Green Lantern signifies a significant 3D push for WBIE. The game will be the first title from the publisher created for the 3DS, Nintendo's glasses-free 3D-enabled handheld that launches in the US on March 27. That version, along with the regular DS installment, is in development at Griptonite Games. The Double Helix-developed Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will also be released with glasses- and 3D HDTV-required stereoscopic 3D support. According to its publisher, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is inspired by the film and sees gamers taking control of the emerald superhero as he and his mentor, Sinestro, take on the Manhunters as part of a bid to "restore intergalactic order." http://asia.gamespot.com/news/6305612.html?tag=latestheadlines%3Btitle%3B4 Green Lantern Movie Teaser Trailer:-

dante77
No PC? Lets face it we all know its gonna be mediocre and I don't wanna waste 2499 for it. Although I can pay around 500-700 for a mediocre movie-tie.

Tyler
A JLA movie isn't happening anytime soon. As for The Avengers, you can expect a crappy tie-in from Sega next year

Guy, Kyle and John all play second fiddle to him. Besides, the movie is based on Hal Jordan so it's only natural that he'll be the main character in the game tie-in as well. Also, Sinestro was a member of the Green Lantern Corps before becoming their arch-enemy and forming his own Sinestro Corps. He was the greatest Green Lantern of them all before Hal replaced him. @Sunny, Wolverine worked because it seems Activison/Raven were given enough freedom to do what they wanted. The result was an ultra-violent M-rated game that was supposed to tie into a PG-13 flick.

Tyler
offtopic but I remember having a comic about a Chinese guy who was the first green lantern ever was pretty awesome WTF was that? Must be some kind of spoof or something. There are only 5 human Green Lanterns and none of them are Chinese. Hal Jordan (first human to be chosen by the GL Corps), John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and Alan Scott - the original Golden-Age Green Lantern and member of the Justice Society Of America. He has nothing to do with the Green Lantern Corps though. His powers come from magic.

Tyler
I highly doubt we'll get to see Star Sapphires or Dr. Polaris in this. I guess a proper non-movie tie-in Green Lantern game is too much to hope for. And if you think about it GL's powers are somewhat difficult to represent in a video-game. They're limited only by a GL's imagination. It's not like Batman or Spider-Man.

Was pretty cool ! It's a long arc, but I suggest you stick to Geoff John's work starting with Green Lantern: Rebirth right up to the end of Blackest Night. Green Lantern - Rebirth Green Lantern - Secret Origin (retconned origin story by Geoff Johns) Green Lantern - Sinestro Corps War Green Lantern - Rage Of The Red Lanterns Green Lantern - Agent Orange Green Lantern Corps - Sins Of The Star Sapphire The entire Blackest Night saga Followed by the ongoing Brightest Day anthology series All of that should give you a solid background for the upcoming War Of The Green Lanterns event.
