Good review , and the -ve point was that the game is unforgiving , which means NG is back beeches

BTW the review is a WII-U one so any complains with graphics should not be there in the PS3 / X360 version unless it's a direct WII-U port

For people haven't played III but looking forward to play Razor's Edge , the base game and it's mechanics can't be changed in a director's cut despite the loads of additions , character , DLC weapons in the vanilla NG3 , and it isn't. The problem began with Hayashi was when he went bonkers with development decisions trying to make a name for himself after NGS2 and itagaki's exit.

The " westernizing the game " is such a terrible hoax it's laughable. Instead of sticking to the original freestyle gameplay , the obvious additions were made to look so bad that it felt the franchise was wrapped in a ninja cocoon upon release with so much potential in the actual gameplay among the lack of many. The decisions were against some very reputed and talented members of Team Ninja as well but they didn't quit which is good for the fans.

The mention of difficulty is lolworthy for both the versions among the hardcore audience. It's a tad similar but not near the already dumbed down Sigma games on the PS3. There are NO Ninja Gaiden versions , not even Black ( only Master Ninja was somewhat worth mentioning but that too only for the 1st 7 chapters and the initial Muramasa's shops/statues ) that can match the vanilla NG with both the Hurricane Pack volumes on the Xbox and NG II with it's godtier Missions Pack.

I remember Shimbori ( didn't work on NG ) even going to accept that they made a bad decision and acknowledge the fans's outrage. DOA 5 ( post update ) is the best iteration when it comes to balance since DOA 2 / HC on the Dreamcast / PS2. The IP is in the hands of a GODLIKE Team and the ONLY other 2 teams in the industry is capable of outperforming each other with subsequent sequels in the genre , are P+ and Team Itsuno at Capcom after they're done with Dragon's Dogma.

All said and done , this is the best version of NG III they " could " release no doubt , but the initial price tag might be ridiculous as Milestone's history with games by Tecmo Koei , but then again somewhere in the lines of Anarchy Reigns ( since NG3 came out already for both platforms ) is possible as well , not to mention DOA5 retailing for 1600 with within months since launch , it might be WIN,

Downloaded the game, the game is a fukin beast, you will die , die, die & die some more on normal, enemies just gangb@ng you up, you will be required to make split second decisions about your next move & kill, the combat is a brained button masher system, you need to plan your combo.

Didn't like the ryu missions of the demo the camera was too close, Ayane mission though sold me for the game, the way she kills  , total hack'n slash satisfaction, love the fact that we can choose different weapons now & skill upgradation builds on the reply value, you can actually unlock skills in the demo, save em & load a level n play with em

The graphics are gorgeous, combat is fast & swift, blocking isn't strategic as before though, still MP makes the game kinda appealing, Ninja clan wars FTW !

Go check the demo, if MGR didn't have blade mode then this would be the best hack'n slash ninja game out there

@Nitro - then why is this rated mediocre? :raygun:

Ninja Gaiden 3 was lame, but play the demo of Razors's Edge, it's free you wont lose anything, IMO judge the game after playing the new demo, RE makes NG3 look like a Pre-BETA version.

WOW! I was afraid Milestone would f**k it up big time with the pricing , but it's just 2199 for both consoles :majesty: Pretty close , if not less than the $40 tag everywhere else.

2 more days , can't effin wait. Just raking up my karma in the chapter challenges on Master Ninja of the demo till then
