nithin
Go for the i10 dude, or Swift. A-Star looks crap imho. swift is not an option i think... isnt it over 4.5l??? i10 does seem to be the best package in my budget.

Bulovski
nithin - go for i10, very good car. xylo - yuck, puke green colour = complete phailz. it's destined to be a taxi and give competition to innova / qualis / sumo.
Fire Wolf
swift is not an option i think... isnt it over 4.5l??? i10 does seem to be the best package in my budget. Swift petrol base model (LXi) is 3.9l, while VXi is 4.3l (ex-showroom). As for i20, the base model costs 4.8l.
Death Stryke
i20 is a good buy overall. Its positioned as a premium hatch but they've sacrificed on the engine a bit by giving us the same 1.2 kappa. But keeping the average joe Indian consumer in mind, who isnt going to rev the engine much and will be used mostly for city driving with a bit of highway, the i20 should do just fine. He would be bowled over by the i20 due to its good looks, and truck load of bells and whistles and safety features that even cars in segments much above the i20 would be ashamed of. I'm not criticising the engine, it might just be a good one. The old honda city had a 77bhp engine, and it was a roaring success. This one has 80 Edited January 21, 2009 by Death Stryke

Death Stryke
^U've got to be kidding me Getz looks like an boxy tin can to me. i20 has no resemblance to getz in any angle IMO. It looks sleek and has nice curves

Ne0
I'm not endorsing xylo, just was interested in your thoughts. I have an alto, happy with it so far I might buy a swift or if I get a good hike , Honda City in the future
Death Stryke
We have a lineup of good hatchbacks coming up in the near future. The Fiat GP, the Honda Jazz, Maruti Splash. Swift might just get some serious competition then, but I dont think its position at the top is going to be in danger for a long time. I just hope the i20 doesn't get "Fabia'd" . Me wants diesel engine Edited January 22, 2009 by Death Stryke
