    Halo Infinite

So the game opened upto beautiful outside vistas and just when i was about to praise the game and feel good about the gameplay, BAM, the game sticks open world in my face .... Why oh why does every single game has to be open world these days ? It's not even proper open world, more like a miniature far cry, asking master chief to reclaim outposts ? Seriously ?

    Halo Infinite

Installed this game yesterday. Last Halo game i played to completion was Halo 3. Looks like all those cute jackal enemies are still running around.... The grappling hook is a nice addition

    Halo Infinite

Guys relax I've not yet started with halo infinite, still with doom eternal, just asking if the difficulty is on similar lines.... That game feels more like work at certain stages

    Halo Infinite

Is this game easier than Doom eternal ? I'm playing that currently and even at the lowest difficulty having a really hard time completing just the second level

    Cyberpunk 2077

Apart from performance issues, the game still had many other glaring defects. The open world was like a background wallpaper with hardly any interactions, traffic was stupid and so we're the npc's, the game hardly had any incentive to fool around in the open world. The story while started out well ended up in a very mediocre way, full of jargon's that didn't really make any sense. I can't remember one character from the game who has an impact or was worth remembering !
  6. In the last one year, completed the below games: - gears of war 4 - yakuza0 - sw:jedi fallen order - cyberpunk 2077 Lot of interesting games is still in progress/to play list. Finding it easier to binge on TV shows than play games after work

    Cyberpunk 2077

The game has lot of drawbacks, graphics isn't one of them. I think by far, this is the closest to a next gen game that met my expectation about how the graphics would look. Maybe forza 5 comes close but that's not really a fair comparison !
  8. Thanks Also, any comments on the black company series and malazan book of the fallen series ?
  9. Woah, that's a lot of recommendations, enough to last me for another year.... I read fiction/ novels mostly on Kindle these days, let me check if the above series have some combo offers for Kindle as well.... thanks ?
  10. No nothing like that, I thought of starting with the wise man's fear, but looks like the third book may or may not happen. Hence I thought I'd start with mistborn since the trilogy is complete already. So, if there's any other author/series - preferably completed, that's as good, do let me know. I've considered wheel of time as well, but now that the tv show is out, I would rather watch that instead. Any good fanatsy series is ok by me, not interested in Sci-fi though !
  11. So, I'm thinking of starting with the mistborn series next, any other suggestions ? Also I thought it's trilogy, but see much more books in the series.
  12. So, finally I got around to completing the fourth book in the Stormlight archives - Rhythm of war. I think it took me as long as the first 3 books combined, partly because the first 3 acts were kinda boring for me and also I was a little more busy at work in the past few months. The book is good in parts, the last 2 acts are quite good, but I felt it has a lot of filler conten, also, the whole flashback sequence wasn't as interesting this time around. IMO, it's better than book 3 but not as good as book 1&2. The best part was the epilogue, I don't want to spoil it by saying anything, but it's really something and takes the reader by surprise, atleast I was really shocked/surprised , I actually read thru it twice to ensure I didn't understand it wrong !! Can't wait for the next book to conclude the first arc. Would be really interesting to see at what point they wrap up the first arc sand the current storylines !!
  13. I'm having a weird issue, if I set the difficulty to novice, I win way too easily, like the rest of the cars aren't even trying. But, if I set to anything higher, the cars ahead of me run so fast to finish line, like I don't even have a chance. I tried with all cars I've including the fastest McLaren 2018, but no avail. Also, it's not even about maneuvers around corners or anything like that, even in a straight line, they go so fast. Am I missing some settings ? Should I tune my car in a specific way to play at higher difficulties ?
  14. I'm not really a racing game fan, but spent close to 2 hours on launch day playing this game. Spending that much time on a work day hadn't happened in a long time, that's how good the game is. I'm playing on pc at 1440p at the highest settings and getting a solid 60fps throughout. The game looks so good, vehicles handles so well. Even while working all I can think of is to get back to the game. There lot of things to learn w.r.t tuning the car etc, but for now I'm just enjoying the vistas and the heaps of xp the game throws at the player !!
  15. HZD was a good game, I really enjoyed the gameplay, fighting with all the robots. I felt the bow/arrow mechanics was a nice change compared to the usual swordplay based combat in other such rpg games. Story being interesting was a bonus, I enjoyed the game otherwise too. Only gripe i had was the underdeveloped open world, which simply served as a backdrop and nothing more.

    Cyberpunk 2077

So, patch 1.3 got installed yesterday, it's a humongous patch close to 36gb on steam. Felt like there are some new animations introduced , there were some minor improvements to menu, and the fps seems to be consistently hovering at almost 50-60fps at ray tracing ultra settings even at outdoors , which is impressive (earlier it would drop to 40+ fps in some outdoors). Not sure about this, but I think the traffic/civilian density seems to have been reduced. Played only for like 30-45 mins, so not 100% sure.

    Cyberpunk 2077

https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/news/39092/patch-1-3-list-of-changes Woah that's a pretty steep list. I'm in act 3, not sure how much of those would help me, it would be good if they had made the world some more interactive .... I'm just moving from quest to quest, without actually fooling around in the in-game world as there're hardly any interesting activities to partake in. Not something ppl would expect from a open world game !
  18. Most recent streaming movies have poor quality CGI as compared to the movies made for theater viewing. I'm not sure why, but maybe it's got something to do with the fact that ppl are working on it from home
  19. Godzilla vs Kong - what an amazing movie, the special effects were literally jaw dropping, that final fight between Kong/Godzilla/Mecha was really something . Watching it on prime video didn't do this movie justice, would've been far more amazing to watch in theaters !!

    Cyberpunk 2077

Graphics wise, the game is at a whole new level on PC. I'm mesmerized at how awesome the visuals are at some places, I keep stopping every now and then, sometimes even in the middle of quests, to take in the visuals. There are few quests where V goes to rooftops of some buildings and the draw distances are so good ! Visually, I don't think there's any game, as of now, that's as good as this one. Feels like a real next gen game, graphics wise. Also, I've only have a 2k monitor sans HDR. Can only imagine how awesome it would look on a 4k 55" oled with a 3090

    Cyberpunk 2077

So, completed this quest called 'sweet dreams', despite confronting the bad guy at the end, v didn't get back the 20k eddies he swindled in the beginning of the quest, is this some glitch ? No way to recover lost eddies in this quest ?

    Cyberpunk 2077

Completed the quest 'play it safe'. Man, the visuals in the quest was at another level , the floating visuals, the crowd, the whole atmosphere/quest design was sublime. The fps dropped down below 30fps though lol !!
  23. Yeah this is a pretty niche genre. I just chanced upon it thanks to gamepass. And the game is hard, you need to plan a lot and retry multiple times. I feel it's not something you play like stress buster but more like a puzzle game, so I'm not surprised many ppl have just ignored it. Anyway, I'm on third level now, loving the roster of characters that had been introduced so far. Also saw some posts about this game in the previous Page, nice to see others have enjoyed this game as well
  24. So started with this game called 'Desperados 3'. Amazing game I must say. Reminds me of this game called 'commandos' which I used to play really long ago. Didn't see any thread for it, so guess there are not many fans here ?
  25. Why do you need a ps5 carry bag, especially in times of this pandemic ? Travel would be far lesser than normal I presume !
