spindoctor Posted April 6, 2012 Report Share Posted April 6, 2012 someone posted this on facebook... summary of what happened today I reached the venue along with a couple of friends and to my horror was told that they would start letting people in post noon. After a brief argument with the guys at the entry gate they started letting people in. Everyone who entered the convention centre was in shock and awe !! why u ask ?? the reason- Not a single console was setup leave alone the PC's. The Battlefield 3 section wasn't even there except for the banner that said this is the place where you'll play it...wtf !! A few hours later we see some signs of hope in the form of ridiculously dressed females (no offense meant to the girls) posing as a part of Cosplay...none of them looked like any of the characters in any of the games that were a part of this carnival. The moderator was trying to encourage them to dance and act out their respective characters...wtf !! Anyhow, after this disappointment we come to know that there are no lights in the convention centre but hear some music playing in the large lawn where the so called hero of the day "Honey Singh" was supposed to perform. The moderators took their own sweet time to miraculously make a mic work and took a deep breath before one of them addressed the gamers by saying he and the team are apologetic about the delay...blah blah...wtf !! what followed next was an outburst of a parent who'd flown his 2 kids from Bangalore to participate in the event which for the record wasn't happening. The only glimpse of hope was there when they announced that the Console Gaming section will be operational in about an hour (they said that at 15.37 pm). During that hour we again saw some signs of WTF trying not to live up to their name by switching on the consoles and the burned out Panasonic LCD's...every gamer in the console section had a smile on their face and were preparing mentally to beat the crap out of their opponent, but that smile and moment was short-lived because the lights went out again....Mukesh was the moderator that announced that the Console gaming will commence in an hour and an hour later was seen persuading everyone to collect their money from the entry gate. Upon confronting him, he said the generator guy screwed up as he didn't have enough fuel to run the event...wtf !! That was a sign that said even the Console Gaming wasn't going to happen, another female moderator commented that because of the bad publcity by the media..Honey Singh wasn't coming for the Inaugural Show...i mean who cares if he doesn't come...i along with a lot of gamers was there to kick and whoop a*s ..end of discussion and topic...this ain't a rock show or a rave party goddammit !! what happened today has left a scar like the one Sagat (character from Street Figher) carries on his chest. WTF will really have to come out all guns blazing tom and the day after if they want this event to be an epic success. I will be there again tom as the moderators promised that the event will happen for sure...not taken a refund of approx 4200/- coz i want to come and play...for the record no offense meant to HONEY SINGH. can't believe he wants to go back Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
