Playstation Move: The official thread

Recommended Posts

Interested in finding out what the button configurations are for the PlayStation Arc? Neogaf poster Ichinisan is claiming that he's seen the latest pictures of the Arc and proceeds to describe them in full detail.

As to the Nunchuck:

"Nunchuk has an analog stick at the front, below that X and O and below that a D-pad. Underneath is L1 and L2. It's actually long, not like the Wii Nunchuk."

And now, the Wand:

"As for the Wand it has one very big button on top and then all four facebuttons (X, O, Square and Triangle) and underneath is a big trigger called T."

To top all of that, he throws in a comment from one developer contact, "It is highly responsive and accurated (the quote I heard was 'Like a quick Wii remote that's right every time')."

GDC isn't so far away, and they did say they'll be officially debuting the Arc there, so we'll be seeing it ourselves soon enough.

I liked the street fighting video - except for the minor lag in places it was pretty responsive. Why was the guy holding two controllers and not one controller and one sub-controller? Does that mean people will have to buy additional controllers for fighting games?

SOCOM4 - I am not convinced that shooters will benefit from motion sensing. Maybe our fingers will just take some time to get used to it - like adjusting to gamepads from mouse+kb.

From what I read, sub controller 'MIGHT' not have motion sensing 'stuff'. Which is why the guy uses two main controllers for fighting.

oh and I agree about shooters. move might look good for fun...I doubt it would be great for serious gaming (COD MP ??? nayyyy )

'The Wii Nunchuk has a sensor that detects motion, more crudely than does the Remote. The PS3's version of the Nunchuk, does not have a motion sensor, according to a developer I was speaking to. There's a chance that is not final, but that is the case with the controllers at Sony's showcase event today. But that's why two-handed boxing-style games were shown with two Moves. On the Wii, those kinds of games are handled, with supposedly less precision, with a Remote and Nunchuk.'

I read that that street fighting game is only 20% done so there's plenty of time for them to tweak it and fix it.

I think you can use two MOVEs in fighting games and games like that coz you don't need an analog stick but if you are playing a game like socom, you'll probably have to play with one MOVE and one sub-controller.
