FF14 Online to have "subscription fee's"

FF14 orignally named "Rapture" will have fees. Maybe even monthly fees.

In the information section of the official site.

Square-Enix confirms the platforms it will be released on and also reveals that there will infact be a fee.

Its an MMORPG. Like WoW (largest player base ever?), LoTRO, upcoming Star Wars mmo. They all have fees.

One good thing about FF14 is there will be worldwide servers (and ofcourse cross platform between PS3 and PC). So good news for Indian gamers there, since many MMO's go for region-specific servers and if they don't officially release it in India, its hard for Indian gamers to play.

  • 2 months later...

Yeah these MMO's and monthly subscriptions to play is a joke.

Not worth it at all. :(

To outside world paying 20-30$ monthly to play MMO's might not be much , but for us its too much.

I don't mind monthly fees, provided I get to see people from India playing. Playing with people from Us / Australia is a big pain because of the time zone differences, not to mention the absurd questions people keep asking me:

"Oh! Can you speak English" and I was like "No. All this while, I have been typing in Martian"

"You are from India? Do you have a big belly and a big moustache" . honestly, I was too busy laughing to even reply to this.

PS: Why in the name of the Gods is the spell check set to US barbaric English?

PPS: I still think India is going to get shafted on this one. The only official RPG we have is Ragnarok and that too, after 5-6 years the rest of hte world started playing it.

Yes, online fees are not a problem if the game is good. If you take an MMO seriously then the you will definitely get more than your money's worth from the almost infinite playtime.

PS: We also had A3 India. And Ragnarok went down quickly due to inefficient management and exploitable scripts.
