First party are too risky now, they became risky right after 360PS3 (sub 4k gaming). They needed a shift but TV TV TV wasn't the answer, nor did game streaming. The answer was probably letting go of exclusivity and doing platform play. Now, it's way too dangerous for first party IPs.

Fundamentally, this looks like last gen for Xbox. PS will survive, but they have to evolve as platform, Halo and Forza like stuff is just beginning.
