Completed the game. Level 168, ~160 hours spent.
I don’t think I completed 100% as I didn’t want to consult walkthroughs to avoid spoilers and maintain the sense of wonder. I think I would’ve missed some side quests or optional bosses (maybe 90% completed and some 10% missed ?).
I played with melee builds throughout. Started as a dex + str character mainly using bloodhound fang (+9) + longbow (switched to pulley bow later). Towards late game, changed to dex/str + fai build once I got the blasphemous blade (+10) (most OP weapon in the game). It made many of the end game bosses manageable. For summons, mostly used Mimic tear (after I got it) and then black knife tiche ashes for some final end game bosses. Upgraded both to +10.
Hardest bosses fought (in that order) -
- Elden beast + radagon
- General Radahn.
- Malenia
Also, ended up clicking on the blue summon sign and got Ranni’s ending lol. At first, it felt so anti-climatic, I mean I fought the elden beast for over a dozen times and then this ending ? But, after reading the lore, I feel this was perhaps one of the best endings.
Pros:
- The game has a brilliant core gameplay loop that pulled me in and kept me engaged through out.
- The art / graphics is truly amazing. Every region feels different. The palaces are designed beautifully and they do feel like grand palaces !
Some of the NPC’s and their side quests are interesting too.
- The world has a nice lore that kept me glued (just like the prev from soft game - blood borne). I kept reading the flavor text on every item to understand more.
- The open world is brilliantly crafted with enough checkpoints and stuff to do to not feel frustrated / bored.
Cons:
- As with other from soft games, there’s little explanation of whats going on and very little assistance in terms of quests / where to go next etc.
- Enemy variety is not that great. Many enemies repeat in stronger versions in the later areas.
- Boss fights are a hit and a miss
- Catacombs / caves have the same environments repeated with similar enemies over and over. It got really boring towards the end.
- Weapon switching became a headache as you need smithing stones to level up (irrespective of your level/attributes) and in the early-mid game, you cannot really experiment much (until you find the bell bearings).
Overall a brilliant game, I think perhaps one of the few games in which I’ve spent over 150 hours (perhaps only the second one on steam after cyberpunk 2077).
Might do another play through some day with more points in INT/ARC attributes which I never really got to explore.
Definitely in my top 10 of all time. 9/10 from my end
Lol wdym trust you. Bjp appointed Asha Parekh as CBFC chief in 1998, moment they were in power. You can Google and check.
https://cbfcindia.gov.in/cbfcAdmin/list-of-chairpersons.php#:~:text=The Central Board of Film Certification is,the provisions of the Cinematograph Act 1952.
Doesn't matter, majority or not. Bjp was in power. You can change positions without being in Majority. Congress never had majority number of 272 since 1989 on their own. They were ruling with support of regional party only and changing positions in institutions and passing all sorts of laws while being in a Coliation.
After Rajiv Gandhi Congress never formed government on their own with majority.
Moment new party comes in power, Coliation or majority, they immediately change CBI, ED, EC, IB, RAW, CBFC and other government institutions Chief working officers with their own people. It happens everywhere not just in India.
But Atal Bihari didn’t come with a 290 seat majority of his own party.
No one resigned after Atal Came to power……trust me.
Before 2000’s no one even paid heed to the BJP let alone resign out of fear.
Making a AAA movies with a Khan to please them is out of question.
When modi came in power, censor board chief immediately resigned himself. He knew, government will replace him. So he left on his own. Government always put their people in power in these institutions without wasting time.
When BJP came in power in 1998, that year immediately they appointed Asha Parekh as new CBFC chief and she stayed in power for entire NDA term till 2004.
Fact remains Sarfarosh was NOT released in Congress era. Aamir himself said anti Pakistan movies were not possible before 1998 as CBFC wont let us release such movies. You were not allowed to call Pakistan a terrorist country in movies before 1998.
And it doesn't matter whether Sarfarosh had any influence or not. Only thing im trying to point out here that how film makers were NOT allowed to make anti Pakistan or anti isi movies in India which talks about Pakistan based terrorism before 1998.
Border was only exception, but Border was about 1971 war and didn't talk about sponsored terrorism in Pakistan. So Congress allowed it coz in 1971 War Indira Gandi was in power and movie was based on 1971 war which boasted Indira Gandhi image in the country as strong leader.
Bombay movie was not related to Pakistan and it showed local riots, but didnt attack any community in the movie. It did monkey balancing and held both communities responsible and all.
It doesn’t happen instantaneously.
Specially when there is a weak coalition government where ppl know it’d be dropping anytime.
Takes time for tenures & replacements.
Right wing wasn’t influencing Bollywood at all before the 2000’s.
Border & Sarfarosh & Bombay were organically released without any political influences or affiliations.
It was the mood of the nation & that’s sarvochh & sarva priya 🙌🏽
