KnackChap
Soldier/Knight - Best against normal enemies. Mastering perfectly timed parry + counter required for tougher enemies and hard to defeat bosses with. Royal- You will die more against normal foes, but many bosses will be easier and most of the early armored enemies can be disposed off easily using the magic instead of the counter. I went along with the Knight. Royals are easier at the early stages but you will have to perfect things like your parry at some point anyway, so it doesn't hurt to do that early. And you can learn magic, use arrows etc. later. How many levels did u complete before giving up?
killroy
Ive got a good build going this time around. Started with Soldier and increased INT from 9-10 as soon as I could. That gave me one spell slot, my faith was already 10 so I got one miracle slot as well. So I learnt Soul arrow. Presently holding a +3 Schmitar in the right hand, Heater shield in left...I switch the shield with a catalyst for chucking the soul arrows. Not very fond of the bow but still keep it as a switch option in the right hand. As soon as I get a good spear ill switch the bow with that. Stats wise, Everytime I decide to increase stats, I put 2 each in Vit, End and STR and one in Int....Soul Arrow helps a lot. Friend of mine is struggling with a hunter build. The Tower Knight is kicking his @ss. Hunter's generally have low HP...so surviving one dragon firebreath is also a task on its own. Also where exactly can I get a Thief ring...ive been looking for it. Anyone who has got it, can you assist? Also from what I've played, soldier class is the hardest to get timing right. If you get mobbed, its very easy to get your stamina reduced to zero in seconds and take fatal blows. And having low int and no experience with bows, a soldier lass almost always has to get into the thick of the action. Parry, parry and parry...and then riposte...thats what you HAVE to learn if you want to survive even the first level. But if you take all the sh*t that comes your way and dont mind dying...a good soldier build can be an amazing black phantom. Mages are meh when it comes to black phantoms. I was with two blue phantoms when one mage invaded my world. I ran and hid as I didnt know what to expect. One of the blue phantoms raped the mage and told me something called an anti mage field is the mage's bane.

killroy
There are many variations on a 'Big Brute' or a ranged chick...you'll need to delve deeper.

Joy
wud u believe completing UC2 ?? Nemo u should stop spending money on games and instead save that for a few months and get a HD Monitor first , u truly are doing injustice by playing PS3 games on a SDTV. Also lemme get a taste of Demon Souls after you're done with it.

Was going thru d strategy guide and just looking at the profile of the bosses ..this game is going to last me for at least 6 months . A must play for all rpg fans, rpg elements are very good .... I am not a batman fan at all , so, imo this is the best game of the year after UC2. ne one found d thief's ring ?? ...i'm using strategy guide n still cant find it
killroy
@junior.. dont use the guide...it will spoil a lot of the exploration aspect...use it only if you need something badly... the thief's ring is after you cross the blue knight into the first fog of boletaria palace...you know the place where a guy is standing behind loads of barrels and then he throws a fire bomb destroying them all...on that walkway...jump down to the right below...where Ostrava meets you the first time..you will find it there. This game is by far the best game i've played this year. I thought Batman was the best till now with UC2 a close 2nd...but Demon's Souls for me atleast blows everything out of the water. Yesterday I woke up at 2 in the night...was going to go back to sleep...then something made me get up and soldier on until i killed the Armor Spider...I slept at 9 in the morning. There is a strong charm to this game...there is no argument about that...somehow...no matter how many times you die, you will want to keep playing. This game not a 0.1 short of a 10 when it comes to replayability. For starters, its a very big game. Im in 15 hours and still only done with 4 bosses over two worlds. Also grinding is not a necessity but something you will want to do to get all the cool spells, miracles and weapons. And by making the souls the only currency needed for levelling up, buying weapons, upgrading weapons and learning spells/miracles...everything is pretty straightforward...you can level up whenever you want. killroy
What do you mean online? The game is always online...and playing it without online is actually handicap. Online is where the game really shines. Its already a great game and online makes it just better. There have been times when ive got cramps laughing at some of the online antics. For example, In the Stonefang tunnel level...the second one...just after spawn there is a cliff and a room some place ahead...out of reach...there was a message left by some guy saying "Run as fast towards cliff" (Something like that)...I was going to but then I saw a bloodstain and checked it out. It shows an idiot hovering near the message...then keeping his sword and shield inside(maybe to make himself lighter...the moron must have thought he had to run real fast)...and then he sprinted straight off the cliff. Hilarious. Some of the rated messages are false as well. Also black phantoms are a treat to fight...especially when they happily come around a corner to kill you and two other blue phantoms that you summon earlier surprise the goon and slaughter him. We once chased a black phantom and forced him to jump into lava. I dont think any proper gamer who buys this game will put this game on TP for atleast 6 months...and i say ATLEAST. So anyone interested, give your money to From Software...this game is a keeper...a true winner.
