piper
These are factory over-clocked cards. Standard core-clocks and boost clocks are between The cards you linked are factory over-clocked which means that they will have a lot lower scope of over-clocking and a slightly higher TDP (explained with the more elaborate cooling system). The HD7950 boost clock (stock) is 950MHz, people have pulled it up-to ~1150MHz without tweaking the voltage, this makes it perform above the HD7970 and GTX680 (stock) in most titles. Something which the GTX760 cannot brag about but also, it has a much tighter TDP. If you can wait, wait till the HD8*** / HD9*** series are unveiled and graded. Asking because for approx 18k I can get 7950 from forums (with warranty). That bests 760. But yeah, AMD's next offerings might provide more options. Oh, the wait. Heaven Angel
GTX780 is preferred but if you need the extra performance of a SLi set-up nothing comes close. You might suffer from micro-stuttering / screen tear but it won't be a deal breaker and you can go up-to a 3 monitor set-up easy. I will put up numbers as soon as possible. Cheers! Thanks mate. Was checking up price and it looks like I can get 2xGTX 760 instead of GTX 780 + save few bucks. Any benchmark/comparison? I can see only single card benchmarks. piper
My CPU (2500k) reaches 65+ degrees under load, increasing every week as dust accumulates. So opting for an aftermarket cooler. Not planning to OC in the near future. Planning to go for the TX3 Evo as it is easier to fit (than the 212 Evo & such). Right choice? Planning to use the supplied thermal paste. Good enough or should I buy any specific paste? Will be using this guide : http://archive.benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=150&Itemid=62&limit=1&limitstart=5 while applying the paste, seems relevant. I'll apply the paste, fit onto the CPU & then remove the cooler to make sure the paste is evenly spread out. If satisfied, I'll fit it then itself without cleaning/reapplying. Is this method correct or should one always clean/reapply on removing the cooler?
ALPHA17
Suggest that you don't go for the Hyper TX3 EVO. It has a push-pin system of mounting, that leaves a lot to be desired in terms of effective pressure on the entire set-up. A slightly more expensive Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO / T4 would be a better choice in my opinion. The method of application showed in that guide is reliable and you would do fine to follow that. Also, the bundled thermal paste should be up-to scratch for your needs. Hope this helps, Cheerio! =]

I never really looked into cooling or OC. My current readings: Motherboard CPU GPU While playing games, it burns hot without air conditioning. Got around 7 fans installed on case. piper
Temps for mobo & CPU seem high. What's the GPU you have, did you try running under load? Coz 48 degrees max is definitely not load temp.
ALPHA17
Stick with 23" inch monitor or upgrade to 27"-30" inch and still play at 1080p? or move to 1440-1660p? If you want to duke it out for the next three to four years, I suggest stick with your current 23" monitor and a GTX780. It should age well and work better. Also, unlike an SLi set-up you would not need to update your driver profiles to ensure good performance in the latest release. Also, my honest suggestion is don't buy anything in the graphics department for now. Your dual GTX 580's should hold out for another year, go for the next nVidia / AMD graphic cards which are released after the new consoles are out later this year. CPU While playing games, it burns hot without air conditioning. Got around 7 fans installed on case. I rarely clean it..been more than 6-8 months now. Any changes should I do? If I do clean, any change will I see? I am assuming that your CPU is cooled with a stock cooler and nothing more. If that be the case, the temperatures are justified because that is just how bad the stock Intel coolers are. A basic $20 -->$40 cooler like the following will alleviate your temperature issues, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO / 212X Thermalright Cogage True Spirit (+$5 for a mounting kit for this one) A good clean once in four to six months is recommended and you would see improved temperatures (between ~2° -->5° C). Rest your numbers check out fine. Hope this helps, Cheerio! Edited July 7, 2013 by ALPHA17

ALPHA17
T4 vs 212 Evo, what's the difference? On the whole nothing, on the MRP, between ~200 -->400 bucks depending on where you source it from. Also, I have heard that the T4 does not come with additional mounting equipment so you are stuck with a single fan set-up, which is not the case with the Hyper 212. Design and principle of heat dissipation is same on both the coolers and you are not going wrong with either piece. I will try to get a couple reviews to add more volume. Antec Skeleton Open Air Case You won't need to mount a cooler like Sagar, in-fact he has over-spent on that aspect in my view. A simple air based tower cooler would have done the trick for him. The above case you have short-listed has the following issues, Cost, this thing will burn a hole of approximately ~10000/- in your pocket and does not have any USB 3.0 ports or other such goodies for such a premium price tag. Maintenance, design is very open so dust will choke everything faster than you can say, dhool. Due to shape and design of the case, components will have to be chosen. So just think about these points before purchase. Hope this helps, Cheers! Edited July 7, 2013 by ALPHA17

I was searching for a reliable place to order the 212 Evo from, as at FK it is out of stock. Then I saw the Hyper 212X for the same price. Apparently it is the latest iteration of the 212 series. Any thoughts?

The Wolfy among us
I tried assembling my gx 760 and surprise surprise, this bloody thing is so big that it blocks two of my sata ports. I have an i3 2nd gen processor. Can someone please recommend a motherboard which can seat the 760, and yet not block any of the ports? I dont' want anything fancy. Should just serve the said purpose. And will it fit inside my current cabinet which is a CM Elite, or do i have to get a bigger cabinet?
