The Ghosts now on Playstation 3. Following the award winning 2005 Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW), Ubisoft brings the sequel GRAW2, with additional content, to the PS3.

You are the Soldier of the Future 2.0. All systems have been upgraded to give you more power and control on the battlefield. Following the failure of the “coup d’etat” in Mexico City Mexican rebels have gathered their remaining forces along the US border. Lead your team of elite Special Forces for the first time on US soil - straddling the border between Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas. The Ghosts have less than 72 hours to stop a nuclear attack. You are the last line of defense and must do what it takes to be victorious.

Groundbreaking Visual Experience: The war zone in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter comes to life as you navigate through trash-strewn streets and pick off enemies from behind bomb-scarred structures. The cutting-edge physics and particle systems will show you some of the most intense and realistic explosions, smoke, and environment destruction ever seen in a video game. Dynamic lighting and shadows will morph as real-time day/night cycles and a constantly changing weather system require you to adjust to the changing conditions on the fly.

All-New Battlegrounds: For the first time ever, the Ghosts will defend U.S. soil from a cross-border attack, taking the fight to all-new locations. The Ghosts will battle enemies in mountain terrains, barren deserts and even on their home turf in El Paso, Texas. Each environment presents its own benefits and challenges and will call for fresh tactical approaches.

Vastly Improved Artificial Intelligence (AI): Watch your back as rebels send their own team members to flank your position or gain vantage points by utilizing vertical gameplay to pick you off from the rooftops above. Improved squad-mate AI will now feed you more of the information you need with descriptive commands like "enemy spotted behind red truck ahead."

Improved Cross-Com: The revolutionary new Cross-Com 2.0 will give the player more information than ever before. You will be able to see what your friendly forces see in the top left display and the click of a button will expand that to full-screen view for a clearer and more precise picture. This will give you a more comprehensive view of the entire battlefield. The new Full Command View will allow unprecedented precision in developing and issuing tactical plans on the battlefield.

Expanded Support: Command lethal air strikes with jet fighters, gain mobile cover for otherwise impassable situations and replenish armaments on the battlefield using an unmanned artillery MULE. Players can now heal their team on the battlefield, including squad leader Scott Mitchell, with an all-new Medic class of soldier.

Key Differences from the Xbox 360 version:

  • SixAxis features : Controller features used for Mitchell & Cross-com control
  • SP : Drive the supports (drone, M.U.LE) with the SixAxis functionality
  • SP/MP : Change Mitchell stances with the SixAxis
  • SP : change the Rules of Engagement with the SixAxis
  • Consistency increased between SP & MP: Scope, Movement, Aiming…
  • PS3 specifics adaptation of controls: Menus, Shoot button…
  • 14 additional maps resulting in a total of 32 MP maps!!!
  • 2 new coop modes, “Evasion” and “Exfiltration”, to vary the game experience in multiplayer.

PSU: GRAW 2 Review...8.5/10

Bottom Line:

GRAW 2 is finally here for the PlayStation 3 console, and being a port does little to deter from its striking gameplay. Along with the online portion, you’ll be playing for hours on end to progress as one or as a team, depending on the mode chosen. The addition of the Sixaxis is a bit sloppy, but nonetheless GRAW 2 delivers. This is a Tom Clancy game no one should pass up!

Pros:

* + Stunning visuals complemented by amazing sound

* + Intense missions

* + Great online experience.

Cons:

* - Limited Sixaxis delays, but sensitivity customization mollify the situation.

* - Some frame rate hiccups

* - Battle dialogue could be improved.

Finished it yesterday, and it is one of the awesomest shooters I've played since GoW and Resistance. Pretty short, but bang for every buck. Specially final two hours filled with total action, screen filling explosions, chopper dog-fights, fighter plane assaults, battle tank invasions and some serious twists. Its a perfect blend of arcade and tactical shooter. Anyone who likes Black Hawk Down type urban shooters with over the top dialogs like a Michael Bay movie character should pick this one up.

I've only played the PC version of the first game. As far as I know it's radically different from the console version besides featuring a first person viewpoint. Either way I found it to be punishingly difficult! It looked very good but I just couldn't play past the second mission...

^^ +1 pc version of GRAW was awesome... sure it was a little difficult as it didn't had any quick save like GRAW2 but the maps were twice bigger than console versions , graphics at max that time was just too good..

In pc GRAW u had to be very careful , as the AI teammates were pretty dumb , they get easily killed if put in open , and unlike console versions once a team mate dies or loses health you can't heal him with a medpack. , most of the time u have to check the satellite map to check on enemy positions which was really cool... ans should be implemented in modern shooter games.. , any news on of GRAW 3 in production... ?
