Dante's Inferno

Since it's by the same folk behind Dead Space I'm assuming it's gonna have some strong horror elements in there. Although the trailer did remind me a bit of Se7en with the whole Seven Sins theme going on. Pretty interested.

PS: I do fkin hate them for stupid trailers like this that don't explain jack.

Looks like an action thingie like Doom which will go through the nine stages of hell. So Lust would be filled with Succubi and Gluttony would be filled with fat monsters. But if I remember my Dante the seven sins are different from the nine levels of hell. The nine levels are concentric circles with increasing levels of sin, and the final contains Satan. Read the decscription of the levels in Wikipedia and pretty sure this will be good ole action.

@nash - se7en had numerous references to Inferno because it borrows heavily from the book - the whole concept about seven sins.

Somehow, I don't think your plea will ever reach to them anytime soon :wallbash:

you're right...the trailer has a crawling-baby thing in the beginning few seconds, which the player will probably have to stomp/stab/crucify.someody at Redwood has father issues

^ Wont come out this year. probably.

And other than the unique setting etc, it seems to be exactly like God of War.

I'm not sure if thats a very good thing, although the plot and setting should keep it interesting.

lets wait and see.

Speaking of which, in addition to the core team which made the excellent Dead Space, EA has hired Steve Desilet, one of the lead level designers on the Half-Life series and Oddword: Stranger's Wrath, and Mike Cheng, who worked on Metroid Prime and was lead level designed on God of War II (aha!). Meanwhile, Renowned fantasy artist Wayne Barlowe (stayed tuned for an interview with him later this week), is on character creation duties, and Knight teases that he's co-authoring the script with an "Oscar-nominated writer". The message is clear: this is a major new franchise for EA, and it's backing it to the hilt.
