Ne0
any recommendations for a long travel ? I like fiction (spy thrillers and stuff) and sidney sheldon-esque drama stuff ! Don't want anything too heavy.... pls recommend something i can buy and which'll be available in popular stores(like higgin botthams etc) currently. Its ages since I've visited a book store and I'm sure I'll not know what to pick !
Bulovski
Robert Ludlum - The Bourne Trilogy; Road to Gandolfo is hilarious I would actually suggest picking up the Hercule Poirot short stories collection - 50 of his best. If you're interested in sci-fi - Dune, Ender's Game, any Philip K Dick. Thrillers - Dick Francis novels are ok.

I've seen Bourne Trilogy movies, so don't know if books will be as interesting !
Bulovski
anything in sidney sheldon/Jeffrey Archer style ? I've seen Bourne Trilogy movies, so don't know if books will be as interesting ! Ludlum is the original. The Bourne movies are not a patch on the book. Just pick up the first one - Bourne Identity. It's brilliant. The book starts like the movie but goes at f1 speeds after that. Gandolfo is a lot like Jeffrey Archer style - very funny. Oh I suggest you pick up Caves of Steel and Naked Sun by Isaac Asimov - sci fi thrillers. Brilliant stuff. The Artemis Fowl stories are very good as well.

Pyrotek
I'm reading Kunal Basu's "The Japanese Wife". Its a good collection of short stories. Though I have to admit, it does take concerted reading to really get the hang of what the author is tring to convey. the title story is quite endearing to read actually. But I think Basu's always hesitant to describe the crux of the story. Almost analogous to eating a sandwich minus the stuffing in between. I've also bought "Atonement" by Ian McEwan and "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. Will get started on those once I finish with this one.

Aftrunner
Currently reading Gates of fire by Steven Pressfield. Its the account of the battle at Thermopylae as told by the last surviving Spartan soldier. Anyone who has read the graphic novel 300 by Frank miller. Or seen the movie 300 based on the same needs to read this. Its based on the same battle where a company of 300 spartans (with some allies) held off a vast army for days. Its a lot more realistic (and a lot more historically accurate) and brutal than 300 which makes it even more gripping. It makes 300 look like a silly childrens fairytale (hold off the torches I am a Miller fan myself). By the time I finish this I should have the second part of the Troy series with me. Good week ahead.
