Comparing a movie like Haider to Kashmir Files is an abomination.
One clearly had the worst of it’s kind propaganda behind it to just some how ignite old flames again.
The other was a pure piece of art set in a backdrop of two warring sides with do or die(kill) intent to keep the turf in their reign.
It’s not even comparable.
There is nothing that is being censored or stopped from release (on OTTs).
Stopping stuff from mass release in theaters for the movies that are in extreme side of spectrum, happens everywhere in the world.
Sometimes it is a necessity to maintain law and order, sometimes to stop from sentiments getting hurt.
India had banned Da Vinci Code from release, and it was laughable but it is what it is.
I don't really read too much into it.
As much as I like freedom of speech, I also care for safety and well being of people who will have to bear the brunt.
#2 just because a movie is claiming to show the truth, doesn't mean it is showing the whole truth and it doesn't have an agenda. Again, I leave it to the competent authorities to take call on that.
Society matures with time, people had issues with Fire, which showed sisters in law engaging in a homosexual relationship, today it won't even raise an eyebrow anywhere.
