Report - Wii U 50% More Powerful than PS3?Speculation has emerged that the Wii U is 50% more powerful than PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Industry Gamers has quoted Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia as saying, "Some of the developers we spoke to indicated to us that the console will have 50 per cent more processing power compared to the PS3 or Xbox 360. This is yet to be confirmed by Nintendo." But this conflicts with the remarks of John Carmack, id Software's technology chief. Speaking to Gamespot, he said that "the technology level on there brings it up to parity with the other consoles." At the moment this is all just speculation, of course, but a few weeks ago IGN made its own Wii U - see what we put under the hood and the results we got out of it. http://wii.ign.com/articles/117/1176149p1.html

achilles
tbh this can easily be done on PS3 or any other games console also ...infact mgs3 use to do this...just at the press of L1 you could see from snake perspective .....it still nice here coz you have two different screen here. So like pressing the 'zoom' button that is there in 100's of games? MGS3 did THAT? My Gawd that game must've raaaked.

SRINI87
WII U GPU Could Support Up To Four Controllers WII U is capable of streaming graphics up to four screens and could possibly support Shader Model 4.1 Although Nintendo claimed that their next-gen console WII U can support only one controller, various report claim that the WII U is capable of streaming graphics on up to four screens. Wii GPU has two output modes and one of them supports streaming of up to four SD Images. In case this output mode gets used, WII U could stream graphics to four controllers but it might stay a dream for all WII U players due to the cost issue of the technology. AMD's "Eyefinity" technology AMD already has in some of their PC graphics cards support for multiple monitors, 3-6. However, the wireless Wii U controller won't be physically connected to the graphics card, which makes this kind of support for multiple Wii U controllers an even larget issue. A side of that, GPU that will be implemented in Nintendo's WII U might even support Shader Model 4.1 . Stay Tuned ! gamersbook
avkash
which in essence meant that it won't mostly support more than one. anyways the controller will be really pricey EDIT: and I hate those nubs-for-real-sticks

CarbonCore
Maybe it'll support 4 controllers but without streaming, or use 'download play' feature of DS to download streaming data first, then change controller screen data as per player inputs and independent of main console stream. avkash
difficult to do when a game is solid 60FPS and just realized, no battery time given for the controller, I get it will have a separate plugged in power supply
PS Fan
Wii U: Can it stand alongside PS3 and 360? A couple of months ago we asked you whether or not you thought Nintendo's Wii follow-up could recapture the hardcore. Back then we were dealing with the fickle wisp of rumour but now we can look at the issue once more from the strong bosom of Lady Fact. You've all seen the Wii U, it was the stand-out feature of Nintendo's E3 press conference and probably the biggest reveal of the show. After a bout of initial confusion, with Nintendo showing off only the controller along with a slog of Wii integration, it's safe to say we now have a fairly good understanding of the new machine's capabilities. It's the controller itself that's providing the Nintendo innovation and, mostly, its built-in touchscreen. But there's also a slew of third-party developers ready to throw AAA games at the new machine and, in fact, a number of AAA titles already lined up. Battlefield 3, Arkham City, Darksiders... it seems as though Nintendo is now at least straddling the casual/hardcore divide if not taking a full-on stride back into blockbuster gaming. But are you convinced? Can the house of Mario pull of such a feat? Is there enough there for the hardcore contingent or will we be forever suffering as a result of constant Nintendo compromise? Does the lack of DVD and Blu-Ray playback point to a decision not to fully embrace a hardcore audience, which is increasingly looking for more multimedia options on top of great gaming? Put simply, will there be a Wii U sitting next to your PS3 and 360 in the near future?
