Heaven Angel
NICE. And, later this week we’ll go in-depth with Solomon and DeAngelis on the reasons behind the bold move to take XCOM from a multiplatform series to a PC exclusive, and how XCOM 2 will be tailored to take advantage of that single platform’s strengths – followed by Firaxis’ exciting plans to support modders and their work. ALPHA17
SP of XCOM enemy unknown any good? Pretty much the best you can get from a turn based strategy title. Highly recommended.

Aftrunner
Weird that its PC only. I didn't play the console versions but I don't think it would have been problematic playing this with a game pad. Maybe the sales weren't there to justify the effort. I played on PS3 and the controls are absolutely fine on consoles. XCOM was amazing. Really disappointing that it is PC only :/
Aftrunner
I'm think there will be a console version. Just probably not at launch to scale back the budget. Hopefully. Anyway, Day 1 and all that.

Heaven Angel
Why XCOM 2 Had to be PC Exclusive. Firaxis is leveraging all its expertise on the platform where Enemy Unknown found its audience. Our expertise here is PC. That's our home, and that's where we're really comfortable.Of course, the one thing that a console version of XCOM 2 wouldn’t be able to handle at all is modding, which Solomon and DeAngelis consider to be one of it’s biggest features and key to offering the kind of long-term replayablity and value people have come to expect from the makers of Sid Meier’s Civilization. We’ll have more on how Firaxis is embracing modders in XCOM 2 next week.

Aftrunner
"It's going to be familiar and it will incorporate the new stuff in the game. So it's a mash of the two. We recognise that people liked that a lot about the first game, that it worked well on different consoles and just worked on PC," he says. "We wanted to keep that familiarity and it's great for people coming back from XCOM Enemy Unknown so they know that this is happening and same time we want to make the UI something that new players can understand. You don't need the experience of the first game to get into it." :/ Was kinda hoping the UI would be redesigned from the ground up since its PC only (for now at least) but it looks like its still made to cater to gamepad's at some point. Not the worst thing ever, cause the UI wasnt terrible to start with but it is disappointing that its so much like the prequel.
PS Fan
If UI is like previous game then it will definitely come to consoles.
ALPHA17
A new enemy appears, 'The Nameless' 2K Games has posted a video of the Firaxis Mega Panel recorded at PAX Prime 2015, in which XCOM 2 Creative Director Jake Solomon and Art Director Greg Foertsch, and Civilization: Beyond Earth—Rising Tide Co-Lead Designers Will Miller and David McDonough discuss their approaches to design, and show off a little bit of what's new in each game. The best part? A fun little segment at the end of the video that reveals a brand-new XCOM 2 enemy called "the Faceless." Source: PCGamer
