Meanwhile, YoRHa skirts (or shorts, for the few male models) also have a function, as explained in a crossover event with another Yoko Taro game SINoALICE, in which it is made clear that these skirts work as heat sinks that allow heat to escape and prevent YoRHa units from overheating.

Credit to Japs that they bothered to create an explanation for a sexy dress on an Android

Taro just needs any excuse to justify skimpy outfits. Not sure what he said about Kaine's outfit which was way more revealing than 2B.

Welcome to Japanese entertainment culture

It's about expectations for me. If someone wants to tell a serious emotional story through such a character design, it becomes really hard to overlook it.

Well whatever, 9S is good and the world, OST and the gameplay are fantastic.

Is there a quick way to fast travel that I'm missing? I seem to be only able to fast travel b/w the blue access points. The open world is kinda big so it takes time go from place to place.

There are many access points in game. Find them and you'll have one in each area. That's the only fast travel system.

Whatever you do

don’t forget to go back to the place you died in the prologue & collect your equipment from your previous body

It’s a side quest too but easily missable if you die again before that

Google if you have to

I think I've already done that. I got back the sword and a lot of items.

Fast travel unlocks after a few main missions. I remember it gets unlocked after 1-2 hours of gameplay.

Finally unlocked this fast travel mechanic. Somehow It took me ~6 hours of gameplay (as per the load file) to unlock this:ko:

Loving the game so far. As a big time DMC fan, this hits all the right spots. Auto-Heal chip + fast on your feet = no need of healing items. I like that.

Lol I think Autoheal only makes use of healing items automatically

it’s not like you’d autoheal without them

Atleast that’s the AutoHeal I have

I’m on the Second boss fight near the amusement park

LOL. My bad. I meant the other chip which regenerates HP at some rate (it's about 1%HP/sec at base I think, I'm using its upgraded form which regenerates at 2.4%HP/sec or something like that). I don't remember its name.

Do look at your chip config and optimise it to match your play style. Makes a massive difference. You also get the ability to upgrade and fuse chips later on. Use that as well.

Yeah, fusing is definitely the way to go. I had like 100K G. Spent almost all of it to max out the number of chip slots. Now it's all about collecting and fusing chips to get stronger. Upgrading weapon also seems viable but I'm not sure how to get the upgrade materials.

Done with the first ending. Took about ~12 hours. I missed/failed some of the side quests so I hope they respawn in the second playthrough.

Was expecting NG+ to be like other games but was pleasantly surprised to see it's a completely new path (at least till now). But I wonder If we get the chance to play again as 2B as 9S is definitely not a close combat guy (No need to tell me if this is the case!).

As for the story so far, it was alright. There are still a lot of loose ends but I assume they will be tied in the subsequent playthroughs. The Combat system and the OST alone make it a 9/10 game for me. Besides the story which may get better, the game lacks good enemy variety IMO. Most enemies behave the same and are very easy to dodge. Heck, the most difficult sections were the side camera ones because the camera made it very tough to see and dodge the enemy attacks.

9S is a monster at destruction and disposing enemies. With 2B and A2 , I was always on a backfoot while fighting high tier enemies but with 9S and hacking, you can slice through an army of highest tier enemies with ease. I completed all super challenging side quests with 9S.

I have only completed the factory part with him so far. Perhaps it's too early to judge him. The space invaders gameplay sections are actually quite fun!

A question, how long is the game in approx. hours? Not 100% completion but just for the story.

I completed in around 30-35 hours with a moderate amount of side quests

Done with endings A to E. Had no idea how to get the other endings so had to look up the wiki. For now I'll start another playthrough and do the DLC. The fact that enemies don't scale(except aerial enemies?) is going to make this fun lol.

Overall, the game pushes the narrative that "Games are art", not in the scale of say, Shadow of the Colossus but it's doing some amazing things. Ending E is outstanding in it's execution. The combat is easily the best part of the game. The lowest point for me was 9S's playthrough 'cause 2B and the other character play so well and smoothly. 9S is a beast with hacking and throwing spears(lol) but definitely not as fun as the other characters.

The game started out as a 8/10, escalated to 9/10, again dropped to 8/10 in playthrough B but part C elevated the game easily to a 9/10. Enemy diversity and character designs are the downsides for me. Really really hard to take the girls seriously with those designs lmao. Also the game's too easy when you unlock the proper chips (+100% weapon damage is insane) but I guess that's upto me to change the difficulty.

In the end, I'd say I love the game. Definitely one of a kind unique experience.

Edit: Can I skip the initial level of the new playthrough via chapter select. Does it mess up anything with side quests?

I’m at the part where

  Hide contents

9s is lost

a lot of my unfinished side quests have disappeared & an [X] symbol appears in the menu

many are still visible

Will they show up again or I’ve lost them till next play through?!?

This is one kick a*s game & I’m glad Sony supported this as a timed exclusive when M$ was pumping  hype in something that didn’t materialise by the same developers

Late response but the incomplete side quests respawn in subsequent playthroughs. Also it's pretty easy to jump between chapters and finish the missed quests when chapter select gets unlock.

The second run would seem kinda weird at first because it repeats a lot of things but it gets awesome again after a few hours. Run C is really fun. Saying this because it seems you have been playing the first run for months now lol
