Had tried it once and left it after the first enemy encounter in that open area. I felt the game was too open and was not sure what should I do as there were no quest markers or don’t remember if I missed something. Plan to get to it someday. BTW, is it much more difficult than bloodborne ? That’s the only souls game I’ve completed so far ! The game is really easy . You just need to level up rightly for right areas and Bosses.. For starters you need a Guide or you will get lost easily..

The walkthrough guides will have some spoilers, I had played at launch and had followed Fighting Cowboy
Heaven Angel
Anybody know how will the DLC work? Do we have to be certain level or can we just get into the DLC part without playing the main game. Asking because I'm thinking of getting the DLC on PS5 and I platinume'd this game on XSX. assoonas
well if it is anything like dark souls dlc you probably will need to come to a certain location to unlock it so technically yeah it may require leveling. i assume that the start of dlc will be near miquella's egg so you at least will need to kill mohg. i also think that this will be a separate big dlc location, something like dogtown in cyberpunk type of thing. all these assumptions are based on dark souls dlc from the past and some hints i gathered from trailers. so maybe i am wrong)

I tried twice and left in between, I felt it’s too open, unlike the prev games, there’s no goal/path initially…. many ppl liked it but wherever I went in that first area, got defeated. Still plan to play it someday though !

Still plan to play it someday though ! As a new souls player, you can try Bloodborne. Still looks and plays great. This one, despite spending most amount of time in any souls game, and completing it, I did not like it that much. I think the open world killed it. But that exact thing is what made people fall in love as well. I have many reasons not to love it as much as other From titles, will explain later some time but primary reason was too much openness and uneven difficulty. Oddly, I spent close to 90 hours and explored Almost all major areas.

Sekiro is most difficult FS game. Bloodborne is quite challenging but bosses are harder in Sekiro imo. I have platinum'd BB. So its definitely not the hardest lol. BB DLC old hunter i would say was much harder than base game. Edited August 2, 2025 by Zod
Ne0
Finally defeated that red wolf sub boss in the raya academy. It looked mighty aggressive at first, but it telegraphs its jump attacks and you can easily dodge to get behind it.
Ne0
Defeated rennala, took me only a couple of tries, not much of a challenge, what worked for me was to use the demi humans spirits and not allowing the boss to summon spirits ! Ne0
Most annoying enemy I’ve encountered so far are those giant hands in that Cara manor. They crush, they hit, grab and worst of all they send a terrible spell that immobilises the player. Not to mention that they just spring from ground so hard to know where they are hiding ! Ne0
From buying a game and giving up on it multiple times, letting it stagnate in my backlog to finally getting the hang of it and ending up so immersed in it that I’ve stopped playing everything else - Elden ring , one of the best games I’ve played so far. I’m still in that lakes area, spent 50+ hours and looks like I still have a long way to go. The best part of the game is how fascinating the world is and how deep the gameplay is. So many combinations of build, the game can get very overwhelming at times. Guess I’ll be playing this game until the end of the year !
