IPL TV rights = 870 crores a year IPL Internet, radio, mobile rights = 85 crores a year Gate fee (avg of 25000 crowd, 1000 rs ticket, 76 matches) = 190 crores Pepsi sponsorship = 80 crores Franchise fee = 1060 crores So 2285 crores in one year, not counting money coming from other sponsors. This is equivalent to 415m$, ~10% of NBA's 5b. And the series is just 6 years old which runs for quarter time that of NBA with half the teams.
