Saw Final Destination, was getting bored sitting alone at my hotel in KL and saw it was running in a theatre next to my hotel. Went blind with no expectations and without seeing any trailers. It is a pretty well made movie, with the usual FD stuff to kill people. It was a decently well spent 2 hrs.
Don't forget the food and beverage cost, which is a joke in itself.
There will always be movies people would go to watch. What has happened is that average to hit tag mpvies have reduced a lot. Now either movies are becoming big hits or completely failing. In-between movies have reduced drastically.
There are lot of indirect factors too. Which doesn't have huge impact of their own but its significant if combined. I've noticed in my family members only, specially who are married. They dont want to go out in the city anyway, until its necessary. Factors like pollution, traffic, uncivil people, not just in theatre but everywhere. Its like they want to keep thmslves away from the system as much as possible. Either they go on vacation out of station or they dont go out at all, and sometimes to their friends place. Home delivery services also made everyone lazy, even salon coming to yr doorstep.
