Giant Bomb Review: 5/5
http://www.giantbomb.com/reviews/gone-home-review/1900-591/

Gone Home will remind you what it’s like to be young, naive, and full of passion. Everything mattered and nothing mattered. No one understands you and no one ever will. The world is both infinite and unfathomably small. As the story unfolds, what’s remarkable is just how unremarkable it really is.
Gone Home is an epic story, but its definition of epic is far removed from how we usually talk about scope and drama in games. It’s epic, personal and revelatory to the people involved, and that’s why it’s so special.
The moments in my life that I cherish the most--my first love, realizing my brother was my best friend, moving to San Francisco, getting married--would not register against saving the universe from an alien threat, but these are the epic moments in my life. Gone Home grounds itself by reveling in life’s quiet, defining moments, the ones you might write down in a diary, underneath a set of books, only to find years later.
What a crazy kid you were.

Gone Home offers its revelations in quietness and purity, and that's why you'll leave it with a spring in your step. Turning the world into a storyteller is nothing new in video games, but I think I've gotten to know it much better here, in its pajamas and inside, without all the noise.

GONE HOME IS A QUIET TRIUMPH IN STORYTELLING

Gone Home proves that a game focused on story and exploration, starring a decidedly non-traditional cast of characters can be utterly thrilling. With excellent writing and environments that made me want to explore every nook and cranny, Gone Home simply, effectively drew me in. After completing the game, I sat in spellbound, smiling silence for nearly an hour, and that's perhaps the greatest praise I can lay upon a game.

It took me three or four, and I absolutely adored it. It’s touching, unsettling, deeply honest, and enormously compassionate. Which is a word you far too rarely get to use of games.

I'm eager to try this game too, but I'm waiting for it to go on a Steam sale or a Humble bundle.

Has anybody finished this game ? The voice acting is top notch , one of the best indie game i have played this year from exploring to reading journals , everything was awesome .

Can't comment on this game because I haven't played it yet, but check out The Stanley Parable.I thought the voice acting (narrator) was hilarious in that and I really enjoyed the couple of hours that I spent on the game.

Played the game today for 1.5 hours thanks to PS+. Absolutely loving it so far. The house feels extremely convincing to explore. VA is top-notch ans I'm hooked to the characters. The game has that horror look too which adds up the tension. The game is relatively short( I heard 4 hours on average) so I'll probably complete it tomorrow. The only thing to complain is no fast walking option, and No Platinum!. I recommend every PS+ member to at least try it once.

This is a kind of game I would have never bought due to money/time constraints. PS+/GWG are awesome in this regard(trying new games/genre that you would have never played otherwise). Now that I think about it, I got into my one of the favourite franchises, Souls because of DeS though PS+.

Finished the game last night. Absolutely loved it. This was the first I played a game like this("walking simulator"), and now I have become interested in this genre. As for this game, the atmosphere is brilliant, the VA is top-notch and the characters are well written. I again recommend everyone(PS+ members that is) to try the game. The environmental story telling in the game is fantastic. Each and every note is very interesting to read. Also, the game has a perfect sense of tension with its horror elements(dark empty corridors, etc). It's really short(took me about 3 hours) but it's worth it. As for value preposition, I could have bought the game for around Rs.800, anything more than that would be too much.

I rate it a 9/10. Everything is awesome, aside from slow movement speed at times and one other thing I'll post in the spoiler tag.

I have a question about the story.

What were Sam and Lonnie doing in that secret space(where we find the attic's key)? It seemed like some kind of back magic on Terry's Uncle, indicated by the book lying around the table with that weird spirit calling sign. Were they doing this for fun(their interest in supernatural things) or was there a bigger motive that I failed to notice?

Also, the happy ending is good. I was expecting something tragic for Sam/Lonnie but they turned out to be fine. Sam and Lonnie's interest in supernatural things( Ouija boards and such) really creeped me out. I was expecting a jump scare throughout the game but thankfully that didn't happen LOL.

I expected a better conclusion. What happened to Sam parents? What happened when they found out about her escape? What about their marriage? Also, I think they added Sam's ghost hunting interest jut to please the horror games crowd. I really don't see how that added much to the game.
