i am somehow afraid of the 30-60 fps statement :roflroll: i hope gameplay is not marred by abrupt framerate stutters/drops!!!! or something like that...

Most of the 60fps games on the market have variable framerate including IW developed cod games or RnC and secondly some of those game even downgrade the resolution to hit 60fps . They just don't mention it.

GOW is true 720, hits 60fps and does effects that only 30fps games like UC2 or kz2 do. Has some of the best lighting avb and scale that other action games can only dream of.

As far as I knew, most people on IVG would never settle for anything less than 1080p (provided we knew about the game being 720p or 1080p in advance). But I think we're being a bit hypocritical in saying "Oh it will look great in 720p, we don't need 1080p".

Granted it may be the truth and I definitely think that 720p is enough provided GOW3 still looks awesome (and I sure do believe it will), but it somehow seems to go against the average IVGian character when people aren't bashing the game for providing a full HD experience. :roflroll:

Even wipeout is not true 1080p they use something called dynamic resolution in the game. gran turismo 5 is not 1080p. The only true 1080p games are psn/xbla titles

The difference between 30 fps and 60 fps will be noticeable to the naked eyes, but will not cause stutters and therefore should not affect gameplay.

However, if the fps numbers mentioned in the interview are average fps counts, then there could be a problem.

Weapon snatching

prolly a quick time event ending ;)

but 1080p

:P

but 1080p + 60 fps = epic win :fear:

when GOW III was announced, one of them n00bs (mayb tretton) announced very boldly that the game wud be native 1080p and 60fp. guess they ran out of time or power.

The game can upscale to 1080p.And none of the previous God of War games played on the PS2 suffered from big annoying frame rate dips.So Sony Santa Monica would definitely look into the issue

every current gen ps3 game can upscale to 1080p.

1080p is useless over 720p without the added detail. merely upscaling wont improve anything. seriously. anyway.. not even the videophiles can tell a difference bw 1080 n 720 on screens less than 40 inches. and even then u need to be sitting painfully close.

I have a 42 inch screen but what the heck I wouldn't notice anything anyway, so all's well.
